Spoilers ahead for MAFS Australia season 13.

MAFS Australia 2026 has been a real ride. After all, it is MAFS — what more could we expect?

The show sees a group of singles being matched by expert, before they walk down the aisle and marry their chosen partners “at first sight.” Then, they enter into “married life,” going on a honeymoon, living together and meeting each other's families and friends. Every week, they catch up with each other at a drama-filled dinner as the experts watch on behind-the-scenes. The next day, the experts lead the couples in some rather public therapy sessions, before each pair chooses whether to stay or leave the experiment.

Is this the best set-up for long-term love? Possibly not. But it is a pretty great set-up for bingeable TV — and, arguably, a great microcosm of the modern dating landscape, toxic masculinity and all.

As fans of the show probably know, we are a little behind here in the UK — over in Australia, season 13's finale has just aired. So, only read on if you want to be spoiled about how each couple's story ends!

Which MAFS Australia 2026 couples are still together?

Not together

Alissa and David were the first couple to walk down the aisle this season. The e-commerce manager and nurse had a memorable wedding involving an at-the-altar proposal and a rather disturbing kiss. The pair stuck it out, however, and made it all the way to the finale. But their journey was not without drama. In fact, ahead of the final dinner party, it seemed as though the couple might even be calling quits. Nevertheless, during dinner, David repeated his altar proposal. “For me, I was just saying, ‘Last time you asked me to do it to prove how I felt, and this time I’m just going to do it voluntarily to prove that I’m here for the right reasons,’” David later told Nine. “From my perspective, I started to make excuses and think maybe she needed reassurance, so I did get down on my knee again just to give her that.” Alissa's response? “Thank you.”

As you might have guessed, final vows didn't exactly go well. “I’ve realised I can’t be the man who constantly fights to be heard or to prove his worth to someone who is still deciding if I’ll be enough,” David told her. “So today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa, I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.” He then left the room before she had a chance to read her vows. “I just wasted three months of my life, and he won’t even listen to me,” Alissa said, before she read her vows in the empty room. “David, you are everything I wanted and more. You are strong, you are kind, you are compassionate, you are a leader,” she said. “But standing here today, I can only be honest. I love you, David, for who you are, but not for me.”

Not together

This shouldn't come as a huge shock — after all, this pair left after just two commitment ceremonies. Things took a turn for Rebecca and Steve after a pretty uncomfortable intimacy week, during which Steve accused Rebecca of faking her feelings. This led to a big fight and a mutual decision to call it quits, making them the first couple to leave to the show.

“Steve shouldn’t have been in that experiment. I don’t want to come across as bitter, I just feel so robbed," Rebecca later told Women's Day. "I’m disappointed he wasted my time. He could have been a decent human and had some fun with it, but he wasn’t nice to me.”

Not together

Mel and Luke are another couple who didn't last too long in the experiment. Things didn't get off to a great start, with Luke not only turning up late, but also turning up chewing gum. Not cute! Mel later revealed that she simply wasn't feeling it with Luke. They ended up deciding to leave as friends.

Luke later told the Daily Mail, “I've been given so much support like throughout the show, and for some reason like the first week, second week, I wasn't enjoying it at all... And I realised I feel like I actually had a bit like of PTSD.”

Not together

Now this one might come as more of a surprise. After a tense wedding, Bec experienced some hesitation and jealousy on the honeymoon. However, the pair had a secret getaway away from the cameras and Bec came back head over heels. Bec and Danny made it all the way to the final vows — and by that point, Bec seemed to be all in.

“Daniel, you’re my best friend, my safe space, you make me a better person and you lift me up when I’m down. You’re the kind of man everyone wants in their corner,” she began, before concluding, “Today, standing here, I’m choosing you and I promise to choose you every day from here on out.”

However, what came next was brutal, with Danny telling Bec he loved her "as a friend. “When I think of bringing kids into the world, I want to bring kids into a stable relationship and a stable loving home,” he said. “As much as it breaks my heart to say this, I felt a weight come off my shoulders, at a time when I should’ve been missing you.”

He went on, “I believe you can have multiple soul mates in life – some who are your best friends and some who are your lovers. Bec, I believe you’re my soulmate as a friend, but I’ve come to realise there’s doubt in my mind if you are my soulmate as a lover.”

It was a devastating ending for Bec, who later told Nine, “I flew home that same day because I couldn’t be in Sydney anymore, and I didn’t get out of my bed for five days."

Juliette and Joel

Not together

Juliette and Joel had the kind of chaotic MAFS wedding we can't help but replay in our minds every now and then. From Joel's dad jokes to his mother's speech about him being a “gluttonous pig," it was a certainly an interesting first impression. The pair continued on in the experiment, but their relationship took a bit of a back seat to some drama involving Juliette and Bec. After Juliette was criticised for her drama with her fellow bride, she stormed off the set during a commitment ceremony.

"Although the last 10 days were trouble-free with Juliette and I, she was still the same person," Joel told Nine later. “She felt like I threw her under the bus at the last Commitment Ceremony, but that again is her trying to absolve herself of any sort of blame.”

Gia and Scott

Not together

Scott and Gia began strong with an instant connection. However, they had a huge fight after Gia found photos of an ex on his phone. Things came to a dramatic end for the pair. After a lot of tension, Gia made a final attempt to win him back and the last dinner party. However, it backfired. After reading him a letter, Scott got up and left the table leaving his wedding ring behind.

"The whole experiment, I never had a voice. I thought it was my only time to speak up and not let anyone shut me down," he told Nine.

As for Gia, she reflected, “The experiment brought up things I probably haven't worked on. I do have pretty bad anxious attachment and abandonment issues.”

Not together

Well, that didn't last long. Brook and Chris called it quits during the second commitment ceremony after Chris told Brook that he didn't believe in the experiment in the first place. Things got worse when Chris made some pretty gross comments about disliking “fat” people, women who use “fake tan,” and “needy” personalities. Brook eventually took some time along, skipping a dinner party, and then returning to officially end things.

Brook eventually got back together with her ex-boyfriend Chris — and is now expecting her first child!

(Probably) not together

How cute were these two? That Love Actually moment during intimacy week was one of the sweetest things ever. One of this season's faves, Rachel and Steven's biggest hurdle was the very, very big distance between them — 900 km to be precise. When they made it to final vows, they actually decided to stay together.

"You've never asked me to tone it down, be less or shrink myself to fit beside you. You've let me, be me, completely, and that's all I've ever wanted. I choose you Steven," Rachel said.

Steven's vows read: "I promise from this day forward, to show up for you, take every risk with you, and to never stop choosing you. I am falling for you."

However, things aren't looking great. Apparently, things ended just days after final vows. “Rachel gave everything to that relationship and everyone saw Steven start to come around at the end,” a source told Refinery29 Australia.

Not together

And to finish off a pretty unsuccessful season, we have Sam and Chris. Things quickly turned sour for this pair when Sam shared that he wasn't ready for fatherhood — and Chris shared that he was expecting a child with a friend through IVF. There were plenty of arguments, and eventually, they called it quits.

And apparently, it was never going to work. “Off-camera, I got nothing from [Sam]. We went on one date,” Chris later told Nine. “He didn't hold my hand, no affection. He didn't even know my kids' names. He didn't know my mum's name who came to the wedding, my sister's name who came to the wedding.”

He added, "When there was a camera in front of Sam's face, he said all the right things."

As for Sam, he said, “I think it's learned behaviour through his whole life, and getting Chris to change the way he reacts to feedback in just a couple of weeks was impossible. I think I just decided that I'm looking for someone who has that emotional maturity now, and not someone that I would need to work through these things with.”
