It was only a matter of time before a couple on Married at First Sight: Australia season 13 called it quits, and this week, viewers witnessed two swift exits in a single episode. Both Brook and Chris, and Rebecca and Steven, decided enough was enough and left the MAFS: Australia experiment.
While there had been a glimmer of hope for Rebecca and Steven, Brook and Chris’ split was far less surprising. Their marriage got off to a rocky start: Chris openly doubted the experiment’s ability to match him with a compatible partner, even mocking the experts’ work, while Brook, a model with patience and poise, tried to navigate his cynicism.
Though they made some progress after that messy beginning, it ultimately wasn’t enough. Both Brook and Chris agreed to end things. So what led to their reality TV breakup, and where do they stand now after leaving the show?
What happened with Brook and Chris on MAFS Australia?
Episode 3 of the season saw Brook, 27, and Chris, 31, saying “I do.” But cheerful Brook was immediately thrown off when Chris admitted he didn’t believe in the process or the experts’ ability to match him. Honestly, neither could we… why sign up in the first place?!
Chris had been vocal about his “must-have” requirements, and while he appreciated Brook’s looks, he was annoyed when she insisted on a cheek kiss at the ceremony. The pair seemed to grow closer until Revelations Week. Watching each other’s audition tapes, Brook discovered Chris’ unfiltered comments about disliking “fat” people, women who use “fake tan,” and “needy” personalities.
Brook called her sister, who urged her to end things. Chris apologised but dismissed his language as “locker room chat,” yet the damage was done. Despite this, Brook stayed for the first commitment ceremony.
By episode 11, she told Chris she needed space, admitted she wasn’t “feeling” the relationship, and flew home. Chris went to the dinner party alone, visibly emotional in front of producers, expressing regret at “letting Brook down.” Then Brook surprised everyone by returning—not to repair her relationship with Chris, but to continue her feud with fellow brides Alissa and Stella.
At the second commitment ceremony the next day, Brook admitted the relationship wouldn’t work outside the experiment, stating, “There’s things and actions that Chris has done that I can’t move past.” And just like that… call time of death on the relationship.
Are Brook and Chris back together?
Nope, not at all. Sit down, because this one’s a shocker.
Since filming wrapped on MAFS Australia, Brook has announced she’s pregnant and expecting her first child with her ex-boyfriend Harry… except he’s no longer her ex, they’re now engaged! Apparently, getting back together can work for some. The couple had reportedly split just two weeks before Brook went on MAFS Australia.

In an interview with Woman’s Day, Brook revealed they reconciled two weeks after filming ended and even took a trip to the Maldives together.
Brook shared the exciting news on Instagram in March, posting a sonogram scan alongside a video of Harry proposing.
Rumours swirled that she might have been in contact with Harry during the show, possibly explaining her sudden departure, but Brook has firmly denied this. Love, drama, and a baby on the way, this story has it all.

Of course he has. On his TikTok, he shared a photo of Brook and Harry’s Woman’s Day photoshoot, nodding along casually and looking all nonchalant.

Harry hasn’t shared whether he’s dating anyone else at the moment, but he has relocated to the Gold Coast since filming wrapped.
