Spoilers ahead for MAFS Australia season 13.
MAFS Australia 2026 has been a real ride. From chaotic dinner parties to that infamous couple's retreat, we're gasping for air. After all, it is MAFS — what more could we expect?
The show sees a group of singles being matched by expert, before they walk down the aisle and marry their chosen partners “at first sight.” Then, they enter into “married life,” going on a honeymoon, living together and meeting each other's families and friends. Every week, they catch up with each other at a drama-filled dinner as the experts watch on behind-the-scenes. The next day, the experts lead the couples in some rather public therapy sessions, before each pair chooses whether to stay or leave the experiment.
Is this the best set-up for long-term love? Possibly not. But it is a pretty great set-up for bingeable TV — and, arguably, a great microcosm of the modern dating landscape, toxic masculinity and all. We can confirm, though, that one successful couple have even moved cities to be together. So it's not all failure.
MAFS season 13's finale and reunions have already aired in Australia, and we're a little behind in the UK. So, only read on if you want to be spoiled about how each couple's story ends!
This isn't a reality TV issue.

Which MAFS Australia 2026 couples are still together?
Not together
Alissa and David were the first couple to walk down the aisle this season. The e-commerce manager and nurse had a memorable wedding involving an at-the-altar proposal and a rather disturbing kiss. They were at the centre of a lot of heat from fellow contestants, including Brook, Gia and Bec. The pair stuck it out, however, and made it all the way to the finale. But their journey was not without drama. A key hurdle was the Grass Is Greener challenge, where Dvaid felt Alissa was too flirty.
In fact, ahead of the final dinner party, it seemed as though the couple might even be calling quits. Nevertheless, during dinner, David repeated his altar proposal. “For me, I was just saying, ‘Last time you asked me to do it to prove how I felt, and this time I’m just going to do it voluntarily to prove that I’m here for the right reasons,’” David later told Nine. “From my perspective, I started to make excuses and think maybe she needed reassurance, so I did get down on my knee again just to give her that.” Alissa's response? “Thank you.”
As you might have guessed, final vows didn't exactly go well. “I’ve realised I can’t be the man who constantly fights to be heard or to prove his worth to someone who is still deciding if I’ll be enough,” David told her. “So today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa, I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”
He then left the room before she had a chance to read her vows. “I just wasted three months of my life, and he won’t even listen to me,” Alissa said, before she read her vows in the empty room. “David, you are everything I wanted and more. You are strong, you are kind, you are compassionate, you are a leader,” she said. “But standing here today, I can only be honest. I love you, David, for who you are, but not for me.”
Not together
This shouldn't come as a huge shock — after all, this pair left after just two commitment ceremonies. Things took a turn for Rebecca and Steve after a pretty uncomfortable intimacy week, during which Steve accused Rebecca of faking her feelings. This led to a big fight and a mutual decision to call it quits, making them the first couple to leave to the show.
“Steve shouldn’t have been in that experiment. I don’t want to come across as bitter, I just feel so robbed," Rebecca later told Women's Day. "I’m disappointed he wasted my time. He could have been a decent human and had some fun with it, but he wasn’t nice to me.”
No chance of a reunion between these two, and Rebecca has maintained her disdain for her ex-hubby. She is however still on great terms with the rest of the wives.
Not together
Mel and Luke are another couple who didn't last too long in the experiment. Things didn't get off to a great start, with Luke not only turning up late, but also turning up chewing gum. Not cute! The pair had an icy honeymoon and few weeks, to the extent Luke had to stay elsewhere for his own mental wellbeing.
At a commitment ceremony, Mel was urged to try more, and things briefly seemed better for the pair. The intimacy activities really helped them forward.
But it wasn't enough, as Mel later revealed that she simply wasn't feeling it with Luke. He still felt she had never really tried. They ended up deciding to leave as friends.
Luke later told the Daily Mail, “I've been given so much support like throughout the show, and for some reason like the first week, second week, I wasn't enjoying it at all... And I realised I feel like I actually had a bit like of PTSD.”
Not together
Now, Bec and Danny might come as more of a surprise. After a tense wedding, Bec experienced some hesitation and jealousy on the honeymoon. However, the pair had a secret getaway away from the cameras, and Bec came back head over heels.
The pair struggled, particularly when Gia claimed Danny had said she was more his type. Bec struggled with whether to trust her husband or Gia, and took out her frustrations on fellow brides. Danny alternated between standing by her side and admitting he was embarassed by her behaviour.
They got further in terms of physical intimacy, yet it still always felt like Bec was seeking reassurance she wasn't getting.
Bec and Danny made it all the way to the final vows — and by that point, Bec seemed to be all in.
“Daniel, you’re my best friend, my safe space, you make me a better person and you lift me up when I’m down. You’re the kind of man everyone wants in their corner,” she began, before concluding, “Today, standing here, I’m choosing you and I promise to choose you every day from here on out.”
However, what came next was brutal, with Danny telling Bec he loved her "as a friend. “When I think of bringing kids into the world, I want to bring kids into a stable relationship and a stable loving home,” he said. “As much as it breaks my heart to say this, I felt a weight come off my shoulders, at a time when I should’ve been missing you.”
He went on, “I believe you can have multiple soul mates in life – some who are your best friends and some who are your lovers. Bec, I believe you’re my soulmate as a friend, but I’ve come to realise there’s doubt in my mind if you are my soulmate as a lover.”
It was a devastating ending for Bec, who later told Nine, “I flew home that same day because I couldn’t be in Sydney anymore, and I didn’t get out of my bed for five days."
Previously unseen footage airing ex-husband Danny's true feelings towards her at the MAFS Reunion: “I have a f*cking cushy little life, I gave up my life to be here and I could roll into Coles right now, walk up to aisle four, there's a bird in there and she'll be better than Bec.”
The pair haven't made amends, but don't fret, Bec and Rachel sorted out their drama in the meantime. There's also been waves about Danny's contact with another bride…
Not together
Juliette and Joel had the kind of chaotic MAFS wedding we can't help but replay in our minds every now and then. From Joel's dad jokes to his mother's speech about him being a “gluttonous pig," it was a certainly an interesting first impression.
From there, things got worse… and then somehow even worse. An old video of Joel gave his wife the ick and then she became infuriated with everything he said or did. She called him a c*nt at a dinner party, cursed his “devil eyes” and refused to try a single intimacy challenge.
The pair continued on in the experiment, but their relationship took a bit of a back seat to some drama involving Juliette and Bec. After Juliette was criticised for her drama with her fellow bride, she stormed off the set during a commitment ceremony.
"Although the last 10 days were trouble-free with Juliette and I, she was still the same person," Joel told Nine later. “She felt like I threw her under the bus at the last Commitment Ceremony, but that again is her trying to absolve herself of any sort of blame.”
Maybe they're better as not friends.
Not together
Now this is one we didn't see coming!
Scott and Gia began strongly with an instant connection. The pair happily flaunted their sexual connection and challenged other couples who they felt weren't succeeding as well. To celebrate one month, they got matching tattoos. A minor blip when Gia saw Scott's audition video and discovered he hadn't wanted someone with a kid, but they talked it out. Luckily, Gia didn't discover that Scott actually had no clue what her daughter's name was.
However, they had a huge fight after Gia found photos of an ex on his phone. Things came to a dramatic end for the pair. After a lot of tension, Gia made a final attempt to win him back at the last dinner party. However, it backfired. After reading out a letter, Scott got up and left the table leaving his wedding ring behind.
Scott later told Women's Day that Gia actually confronted him before the dinner party, too. “Right before the party, I went to the mall to get some clothes and production called me to say, ‘Gia is on her way,’” he said. “She was stalking me. She was trying to win me over to convince me to make her look good on camera, then she whipped out a written speech at the table. My hands were shaking.”
"The whole experiment, I never had a voice. I thought it was my only time to speak up and not let anyone shut me down," he told Nine.
As for Gia, she reflected, “The experiment brought up things I probably haven't worked on. I do have pretty bad anxious attachment and abandonment issues.”
Gia spoiled things early on into the season release when she was ‘spotted’ out with her new boyfriend. The pair are moving on, that's for sure.
Not together
Well, that didn't last long. Funnily enough, we thought Chris was going to be the issue on this season with his comments about disliking “fat” people, women who use “fake tan,” and “needy” personalities. Brook certainly wasn't impressed when she saw his audition video.
However, Brook turned out to be the more outspoken of the pair. She went to war with several of the other brides, especially calling out Alissa and Stella. She returned for the next dinner party, seemingly only to continue her feuds, as she barely spoke to her husband.
At the next commitment ceremony, Brook and Chris took the sofa and the experts focused on her behaviour. She excused herself to go to the bathroom and walked out. Chris followed when he realised she had just left. So… that's a divorce, we think?
Brook eventually got back together with her ex-boyfriend Harry — and is now expecting her first child. Chris responded to the news online with a funny TikTok.
Not together
We were rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!
Rachel and Steven were a slow burn that seemed to be growing. That Love Actually moment during intimacy week could have been one of the sweetest things ever, if only Steven had committed to the bit.
The two struggled with physical intimacy, feeling behind the other couples but struggling to up the passion. They managed right before the Couple's Retreat, which led to the infamous FingerbangGate.
Another of Rachel and Steven's hurdles was the very, very big distance between them — 900 km to be precise. When they made it to final vows, they actually decided to stay together.
"You've never asked me to tone it down, be less or shrink myself to fit beside you. You've let me, be me, completely, and that's all I've ever wanted. I choose you Steven," Rachel said.
Steven's vows read: "I promise from this day forward, to show up for you, take every risk with you, and to never stop choosing you. I am falling for you."
However, things aren't looking great. Apparently, things ended just days after final vows. “Rachel gave everything to that relationship and everyone saw Steven start to come around at the end,” a source told Refinery29 Australia. On the It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield podcast, Rachel revealed that Steven didn't make effort after filming and they split soon after.
“On the last commitment ceremony, I expressed my concern that Steven was going to go back to his normal life, and I would become a burden and it’s going to be easier to let me go, which I very much feel like that’s what’s come to fruition.”
Rachel said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail that cracks pretty much immediately began to show almost immediately after filming wrapped. Going back on promises he'd made during filming, Steven basically returned to his normal life in Sydney and failed to fully show up for the relationship. “We’d really spoken about him coming to Melbourne… that was his opportunity to show up for me,” she said. “But there was always an excuse and a reason not to come.”
Neither are publically dating anyone new.
Not together
And now for an intruder couple, it's Sam and Chris. Things seemed positive for these two as they agreed on many things and got along well. Sam revealed he wasn't ready for fatherhood just yet, which became awkward when Chris finally told him that he was expecting a child with a surrogate and another with a friend of his through IVF. Sam took the news well, but later came were plenty of arguments, and eventually, they called it quits.
A key moment was Chris' comments with Gia in the confessional, and that friendship in general.
And apparently, it was never going to work. “Off-camera, I got nothing from [Sam]. We went on one date,” Chris later told Nine. “He didn't hold my hand, no affection. He didn't even know my kids' names. He didn't know my mum's name who came to the wedding, my sister's name who came to the wedding.”
He added, "When there was a camera in front of Sam's face, he said all the right things."
As for Sam, he said, “I think it's learned behaviour through his whole life, and getting Chris to change the way he reacts to feedback in just a couple of weeks was impossible. I think I just decided that I'm looking for someone who has that emotional maturity now, and not someone that I would need to work through these things with.”
Stella and Filip
Together
Stella and Filip had a strong start and an even stronger finish. After committing to an open, honest relationship on the show, that's exactly what they did. The pair grew a physical and emotional connection quickly. Stella was targeted by several of the other brides, namely Gia, Bec and Brook. They felt her connection was fake because of its rapid pace and lack of drama. They kept their cool throughout these attacks, and if anything, it further proved the strength of their connection.
Apparently, they even found time to prioritise their relationship outside of filming hours. Who would have thought?! And, would you believe it, the pair ended up actually getting engaged (like, for real!) during final vows. Love is real! They're in the process of wedding planning, and a few MAFS cast members are on the list…
“I was feeling very relaxed,” Stella said of her final vows. “I was ready for us to take on the real world. Filip [Gregov] and I had tested the connection in so many possible ways. But I was happy to wrap up filming and get back into life because while you’re filming, you lose a little bit of yourself.”
Filip even proposed for real at the end of the series. Gorgeous. A source of conflict was where the couple would live – would Filip move from Melbourne to be with Stella in Sydney? Just this week, the couple posted the great news that they were loving life together in Sydney suburb Cronulla. Filip took to Instagram with an assortment of blissed out seaside couple pics, with the caption "New home appreciation post. Grateful for the warm welcome and open arms. New chapter, fresh energy, let's get to work."
Julia and Grayson
Not together
At their wedding, we thought these two were going to be the couple to watch. The chemistry between them was palpable and sealed with several lingering kisses. But despite their early head start, the couple stalled on physical intimacy, and Grayson grew frustrated. During intimacy week, Julia favoured deep questions over a physical challenge.
Despite the hurdles, Grayson was left shocked when Julia read him a letter ending things. At the next dinner party, Gia and Bec insinuated this was due to Julia wishing she had been paired with a woman, which she vehemently denied
By the third commitment ceremony, they were gone.
Julia is now in a new relationship. “Two months after the experiment finished, I went to do a singing lesson with this particular woman (and apparently I’m not a good singer). But I realised I didn’t really want her to be my singing teacher, and we’ve been seeing each other since then," she told The Tab. Okay, cute!
Stephanie and Tyson
Not together
Stephanie and Tyson entered the show a little late. Both seeking a partner who prioritised traditional relationship dynamics and a more conservative lifestyle, they initially seemed well-matched. However, things took a weird turn when Tyson complained about Stephani's energy being too “masculine” for him. And he kept bringing up that word, grating on his wife more and more.
Tyson was called out by experts for wanting a “submissive” partner.
Apparently, Stephanie is now dating someone new called Aaron. “I sold him a house when I was in the experiment, and then after I left we did the pre-settlement and inspection and met there, and have been dating ever since,” she said.
What a journey we've all been on. Love is Blind, next?
