23 best women's pyjamas according to a fashion writer who loves to be comfy

Getting dressed up is my job, getting dressed down and putting on a pair of the best women's pyjamas is my passion. The moment I step through the door my outside clothes are off and I'm straight into my nightwear. Without hesitation.
There's just something about de-shedding; it feels like the ultimate act of self care. That moment of transition is truly unmatched IMO. I love a good loungewear set or tracksuit, too, but a pair of snuggly PJs hits different, doesn't it? And while they're an obvious must-have no matter the season, I must say my search history is at an all time high for new sleepwear sets at the moment.
Aside from looking forward to swapping puffer coats and winter boots for spring jackets and loafers, new pyjamas for the coming season is a rite of passage. Think chic matching sets you won’t mind answering the door in, butter-soft fabrics, and a whole lot of playful prints that bring a little joy to your wind-down routine.
Because let’s be real, if you’re spending half your life in pyjamas (humans spend approximately one-third of their lives sleeping, folks), they might as well be absolutely fabulous.
How we tested the best women's pyjamas
From the fabrics and functionality of some designs, to the size ranges, prices and colour ranges, Glamour editors Sophie Donovan, Robyn Eugene, Shani Cohen and Neamh Randall have been able to whittle down the best women's pyjamas this year below. Sophie tends to run hot so she looks to breathable fabrics; Robyn prioritises comfort so seeks stretchy styles that still look cute; Shani loves a classic check; and Neamh loves anything cotton and printed.
Why you can trust me
There is nothing worse than climbing into bed in a pair of ill-fitting pyjamas that, as you toss and turn, ride up and cause an uncomfortable night's sleep. It's hard to judge which PJs will suit your figure from one model pic on the brand's website, so I roped in my fellow colleagues (aforementioned above) who are all different heights and sizes and had them test a few new-in styles to help you make some decisions.
It goes without saying that co-ords are having their moment in various designer and high-street stores, too; and while we don't usually look to the runways to inform our bottom drawers, this year feels a little different. Gone are the days when pyjamas were solely for slumber. The "Sleepy Girl" aesthetic has now taken over the runway, with designers like Onitsuka Tiger and Fendi redefining bedtime style. Silken pyjamas, luxe robes and plush slippers became a style statement proving that relaxation can be just as fashionable as evening wear.
Another stand out trend this season is the “day-jamas”, sleepwear so stylish that it seamlessly transitions from bed to brunch. From Chelsea Peers and SKIMS to Lounge and Desmond and Dempsey, it turns out that pyjamas that can pass as everyday clothes are actually one of the best investments a girl can make.
So, it's official: you can do far better than a thread-bare pair of black leggings or a ten-year-old oversized T-shirt. Only the best women's PJ sets will do from now on.
Ahead, Glamour's edit of the best women's pyjama sets for 2026.
