21 best bride pyjamas and nighties to wear on your wedding morning
Featured in this article
As if finding the world's most perfect wedding dress (or even dresses) isn't enough sartorial pressure, at some point you'll remember that you've got to find the best bride pyjamas too and you might just decide to call off the wedding altogether. Only those who've planned or are planning such an event will relate to that…
Because while wedding planning can be a lot of fun, it's also a lot of to-do lists. A lot to think about. A lot of decisions to be made. A lot to spend.
And every now and then almost every bride comes to realise why some couples decide to privately elope, before you flip flop again and remember that the big wedding is, after all, what you've always wanted – and finding yourself the best bride pyjamas to wear as you prepare for one of the biggest days of your life is – deep breath – well within your capability.
Of course, buying your wedding dress is the most important thing when it comes to outfit planning, granted, but investing in some chic bridal nightwear is up there, too.
And it can be just as exciting – especially when you match them with your bridesmaid robes/kimonos. They'll become as much of a memorable part of your day as your wedding shoes or wedding jewellery. Your nightwear is the first ‘outfit’ people will see you in, after all.

Whether you're looking for a sleek and sexy bridal lingerie set you can re-wear on your honeymoon, or something a bit more comfy and covering, a pair of bride PJs is a key part of the getting-ready process of a wedding morning.
Those of you who have been bridesmaids before will know how long it can take to do hair and makeup (up to six hours, believe it or not), and that some of the nicest photographs you'll have from the day can occur during this time, so why not wear something special for the occasion?
I spent so long trying to find a traditionally bridal slip that I'd feel comfortable in on my wedding morning, before eventually realising that if I preferred not to get my arms out in regular day-to-day life, then I likely wouldn't suddenly want to on my wedding morning. It was at this point that I started researching silk robes, and found so many beautiful options that I knew would make me feel both comfortable and truly special.
Georgia, on the other hand, was looking for a super elegant slip dress with lace detailing, and being 6ft tall, she needed one with a generous length for her wedding in Somerset last August. This Homebodii dress was perfect and looked incredibly chic all morning despite the unusually hot British weather.
There are a few things to consider before you get browsing bridal pyjamas for yourself, though; namely, whether it's really pyjamas you want – or if a nightie or robe might feel more like you. Then of course there's the fabric, length, and personalisation and colour options.
If you, like Georgia, are getting married in the summer, you'll likely want something lightweight like a cami and shorts set or a strappy slip, whereas winter may call for a warmer pair of long-sleeve satin PJs.
Then there's the question of whether or not you go for something you'll only wear the once (this is your one chance to wear a ‘team bride’ PJ set, remember) or again and again.
Pastel shades like white, ivory, rose gold and pink are usually the go-to, but don't be afraid of exploring floral patterns and brighter shades. Consider this an opportunity for your ‘something blue’, too, with a pair of sky-hued bride-to-be PJs, or go for total princess vibes with some trending feather pyjamas.

Why you can trust us
You won't be surprised to hear that the fashion team at Glamour has researched, shopped, tried-on and road-tested more than a few things in our time. It is our job, after all. We also both got married over the last couple of years, meaning bridal trends are still very much on the top of our radar.
Having each spent a decade discovering brands, analysing fabrics, sitting front row at fashion shows, attending press days and grilling designers, we'd like to think that our trained eye is more accurate than ever. So we've put together our ultimate guide of options that we truly believe nail it across the board. What makes them so great? Chic styles, sure, but also short delivery times, varied silhouettes, broad size ranges, thoughtful fabrics, stock availability and product quality.
How we test the best bridal pyjamas
Having both been brides recently we really threw ourself into testing for this - both personally and professionally. While Charlie's silk robe is now discontinued (sob), if she were getting married tomorrow she'd opt for either the Olivia Von Halle robe, which has a similar feel, or Sleeper's incredible linen robe with pink trim. She's also very into H&M's ‘something blue’ pyjamas.
Georgia's beautiful slip from Homebodii is, of course, still her top pick, while the Olivia Von Halle iteration would be another key contender. If she was going for pyjamas it would be Eberjey's short PJ set thanks to its unbelievable softness.
After well over a decade of both professional research - and a good couple of years of personal research - we can confidently say that the pyjamas, nighties and robes in this edit are not only worth your consideration, but are also ones you'll genuinely love forever, long after all the wedding excitement has settled…
