Sydney Sweeney's Barbiecore Outfit Is Making Us Reconsider The Trend For Winter

Post-pandemic fashion has remained all about one thing: high-voltage shades and mood-boosting dopamine dressing. So much so that, last year, Valentino's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli dedicated his entire A/W collection to hot pink, in collab with Pantone ahead of their 2023 colour of the year (Viva Magenta). There wasn't a single celebrity red carpet that didn't have at least a flurry of fuchsia. Nicola Peltz-Beckham wore one of Piccioli's creations on the Met Gala red carpet; as did former GLAMOUR coverstar Simone Ashley at the BAFTAs.

As for other celebs who can't get enough of the sickly sweet hue? Lizzo donned a candyfloss shade at the Brits this year, captivating the hearts of the nation while looking like a literal doll on stage.

Kim Kardashian remains a fan of the trend, too, wearing an all-pink sporty barbiecore look with leggings, a crop top and oversized hoodie. Obsessed.

Last year, after our very first sneak peaks at the Greta Gerwig film, everyone's favourite Megan Fox went full-on ‘Barbie party’ at the premiere for MGK's very aptly-titled Life In Pink documentary, where the former GLAMOUR coverstar wore celeb-adored designer Nensi Dojaka.

Hailey Bieber then served summer barbie goddess in a pink structured corset dress by Versace, featuring spaghetti straps with logo detailing and diamonds we can only dream of dressing up in.

Given the designer and celebrity seal of approval, plus the Barbie movie pop culture hype, it's no wonder and searches for ‘Barbie’ have shot up.

The hashtag #Barbiecore has over 270 million views on TikTok, alone, so it looks like it's time to jump on this season's bravest trend. Come on, reader. Let's go party.
