My journey to find the best Korean eye creams has taken me from the DMs of my most trusted Korean skincare experts all the way to the streets of Seoul, where options abound. “The eye area is one of the first places where people notice dryness, fine lines, thinning skin, and loss of elasticity, so many Korean consumers start using eye creams relatively early,” says Ethan Wonuk Hwang, MD, cosmetic physician at Cheongdam LeBelle Dermatologic Clinic in Seoul and my go-to dermatologist for the latest treatments whenever I’m in South Korea. “It’s a popular category here because Korean skincare culture is very prevention- and maintenance-oriented.”

While Korean eye creams contain many of the same ingredients you’ll see in other best eye creams (read: retinol, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid), they’re often blended with ingredients that are signatures of the best Korean skincare. Two classic examples are ginseng (an anti-inflammatory component that can also plump up fine lines) and snail mucin (known for hydration and youth-boosting properties). Plus, similar to most K Beauty formulas, Korean eye creams are known for their soothing nature.

To help you find the very best Korean eye creams worth adding to your skincare routine, I spent five weeks in Seoul this spring searching shelves and asking on-the-ground experts to share their top picks, which I then tested myself. Below are the standouts worth adding to your cart, whether you’re looking for a firming overnight treatment or a refreshing morning eye serum.

Meet the experts:

How I tested Korean eye creams:

Since implementing Korean eye creams into my daily routine, I've learnt a thing or two about what makes a formula genuinely effective.

Through analysing ingredient lists and consulting with my trusted dermatologists and other K-Beauty experts, I've become more intuitive about identifying formulas that actually deliver on their claims — from brightening dark circles to smoothing crow’s feet. When reviewing each formula, I always take note of factors like consistency, value for money, fragrance and, most importantly, efficacy.

Why you can trust me

As a beauty editor for more than a decade, I've written hundreds of articles on skincare, many of them focusing on Korean formulations. Think: Korean moisturisers, Korean cleansers, Korean toners and Korean serums. Since my introduction to Korean skincare in 2016, I’ve gravitated towards their innovative delivery systems and gentle efficacy.

Since then, I’ve continued to test new launches, including snail mucin creams, cleansing oils, rice toners, smoothing Korean eye creams, and hydrating ampoules. I regularly travel to Seoul for market research and even spent five weeks there researching the latest emerging trends this spring. During that time, I interviewed cosmetic chemists, dermatologists, and K-Beauty experts about Korean eye cream, which helped inform my knowledge of what makes a truly great formula.

Why we love it: If you’re looking for an eye cream for dark circles, try Then I Met You Snail Mucin Eye Cream. While even the most brightening eye creams can’t do the camouflaging of an under-eye concealer, this one can give the eye area a subtle glowy boost. The bouncy blue formula gets its signature hue from chamomile-derived azulene, which helps the formula feel calming and gentle. The brightening heroes are caffeine and niacinamide, which both target uneven skin tone.

“Snail mucin is particularly interesting because it supports skin repair and hydration simultaneously, which is important for dark circles that are worsened by thin, dehydrated skin,” says Dr. Hwang. “Niacinamide helps with tone correction, while peptides support dermal structure over time. This type of formula works best for subtle brightening.”

Glamour contributor Sarah Y. Wu says: “When you think of an eye cream for dark circles, you probably don’t envision a blue cream like this, but trust me when I say your dark circles will thank you. I tried this formula right before I went to Seoul this spring and immediately knew it was backup-worthy. Just a few short months later, I’m already well on my way to emptying my second tube. The uniquely bouncy texture makes it a joy to apply and on the practical side, helps ‘fill’ and plump the under-eye area, which in turn makes shadows and dark circles look less visible. I’m also a fan of the cooling ceramic applicator and the way it sits smoothly under makeup.” — Sarah Y. Wu, Glamour contributor.

Why we love it: Peptides are a popular eye cream ingredient for firming, and this powerful formula combines them with additional collagen-boosting ingredients like retinol and NAD+. Dr. Hwang says peptides and retinol work especially well together because they enhance each other’s collagen-boosting effects.

“Retinol accelerates cell turnover but without scaffolding, new collagen can be disorganised,” he says. “Peptides complement retinol by providing signalling support, essentially helping newly formed collagen lay down more coherently. This synergy can lead to smoother texture and better firmness over time.”

Dr. Hwang recommends Numbuzin’s NAD+ Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream to patients “in their 30s and above who are already tolerating actives well.”

Glamour’s Wu says: “The syringe-style tube may look like a gimmick, but it actually makes it quite easy to control the exact amount of product you get. On the flip side, the bulkier size does make it difficult to travel with. Although I regularly inject my under-eye area with a combination of Rejuran and Botox to smooth fine lines, I like to reach for this between appointments when the effects of the injections start wearing off. While an eye cream can’t recreate the results of injectables, I’ve still been impressed by this formula’s noticeable firming and smoothing effects, especially with consistent use. It has a rich, buttery texture that feels amazing on my dry skin, but if you have oily skin, you may find it too heavy.” —S.Y.W.

More to know:

  • Key ingredients: Retinol, NAD+, peptides, niacinamide.
  • Fragrance-free: Yes.
  • Fast facts: Collagen-boosting ingredients; smooths and firms; thicker creamy texture; recommended for mature and dry skin.

Why we love it: Ginseng is another signature ingredient you’ll often find in Korean skincare. “K-beauty brands love to include ginseng, and this makes a ton of sense for eye creams,” says Christina Chung, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology. “Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties can help balance out irritation.”

Much like the ingredient itself, ginseng eye creams can range widely in price. For a more affordable eye care option, try Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum. Y. Claire Chang, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at UnionDerm, names it one of her favourite Korean eye creams. “It contains a powerful combination of two youth-boosting ingredients, retinal and ginseng, which help stimulate collagen,” she says. It’s paired with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid “to help brighten and hydrate the skin.” Beyond the ingredients list, she also loves the silky, non-greasy texture, which “applies nicely and keeps skin feeling moisturised for many hours after I apply it.”

Glamour’s Wu says: “Out of all the Korean eye creams in my extensive collection, this is the one I’ve restocked the most — I think I’m on my sixth or seventh tube right now. As someone with dry, sensitive skin, retinols tend to be irritating, but this formula feels extremely gentle while still delivering the results I want. I only need a small dot to make my eye area feel hydrated and smooth, and I love how it just melts into my skin without leaving any sticky, greasy residue behind. I also love layering a little extra on my smile lines and frown lines between Botox appointments to help promote collagen in those areas and keep my skin looking smooth.” —S.Y.W.

Why we love it: Even those with sensitive skin can find a Korean eye cream that does more than just hydrate. Take the derm-loved Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream.

“If you have sensitive skin or cannot tolerate retinol serums around the eyes, this eye cream is a retinol alternative formulated with bakuchiol and niacinamide,” says Dr. Chang. It’s also one of the most affordable picks on our list. Korean skincare fans love this one for its especially lightweight texture and its retinol-like hero ingredient, which can still be used during your morning skincare routine.

Glamour’s Wu says: “This is another frequently-restocked eye cream in my lineup. I was initially impressed by how lightweight and fast-absorbing the formula feels while still delivering plenty of hydration. The best thing about this eye cream is that it uses the gentlest possible ingredients to target fine lines and texture, so you get a nice balance of smoothing and soothing. Because it’s an extremely gentle formula, results are on the slower side, so consistency is key if you want to see results.” —S.Y.W.

Why we love it: If you have dry skin, try the intensely moisturising Medicube Deep Reviving Peptide Eye Cream, which feels more nourishing than most of the other Korean eye creams we tested. It’s made with hyaluronic acid to target dryness along with a blend of peptides, an ingredient Dr. Chang says helps target fine lines. Because the formula is packed with hydrating ingredients, it’s more suited to dry and normal skin types seeking extra moisture in their eye creams. It also works particularly well for moisture-replenishing evening skincare routines.

Glamour’s Wu says: “I would consider this to be more of a winter eye cream, so I’ve noticed that I’ve been reaching for it less as the weather has warmed up. I still love it as a gentle moisturising option when my skin feels dehydrated in winter, but I currently prefer lighter options, especially during the day. If your primary concern is texture from dryness, you’ll love this. The hydration really lasts without feeling greasy or causing milia around my eyes, and leaves my skin feeling plumped and smooth. You only need a small amount, so one tube feels like it lasts forever.” —S.Y.W.

More to know:

  • Key ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, peptide complex, niacinamide, squalane.
  • Fragrance-free: No.
  • Fast facts: Intensely moisturising; lightweight; contains hydrating and firming ingredients to target fine lines.

Why we love it: You’ve probably heard of Laneige’s TikTok-viral, celebrity-loved Lip Sleeping Mask, a Glamour-editor favourite. The Laneige Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask applies the same concept of a concentrated overnight treatment — but one that’s made for your under eyes.

According to Dr. Chung, it’s a “great nighttime option for those who have a tendency to wake up with puffy eyes.” The translucent gel is packed with brightening and smoothing ingredients like caffeine, niacinamide, peony extract, and peptides to refresh the eye area while you get your beauty sleep.

Glamour’s Wu says “Just like Laneige’s iconic, plush lip mask, this eye sleeping mask is best used for overnight smoothing. It’s got a cushiony texture that cocoons my undereyes in moisture—definitely on the heavy side for daytime wear, but perfect before bed. I usually apply hydrogel eye patches before bed if I’m up late working on deadlines, but this eye cream delivers a similar firming, refreshing effect in just a few taps. That said, it works best when left to work overnight so if I need an eye refresh fast, I’ll still reach for undereye patches instead.” —S.Y.W.

More to know:

  • Key ingredients: Caffeine, niacinamide, peony extract, peptides.
  • Fragrance-free: Yes.
  • Fast facts: Best for overnight use; thicker texture; hydrating and firming; recommended by dermatologists for reducing puffiness.

Why we love it: Dr. Chung and Wu both like to travel with a tube of Innisfree Green Tea Caffeine Bright-Eye Serum, which combines a cooling metal rollerball with a refreshing formula. It’s made with green tea, an ingredient known for its proven anti-inflammatory properties, along with caffeine and niacinamide.

“This one is my summer and travel go-to,” says Dr. Chung. “The caffeine and niacinamide are a great morning pick-me-up for tired eyes or those who are having a lot of nighttime fun! The packaging is just perfect for when I’m on the go.” She also praises the fast-absorbing texture of the formula.

Glamour’s Wu says: “The lightweight formula and applicator both stood out to me when I first tried this formula, and they still do. This is a small detail, but I sometimes notice that rollerball applicators get stuck or don’t glide on as comfortably as I want them to, and I’ve never had that issue with Innisfree’s eye cream. It glides smoothly across my under-eyes and cools on contact even if I don’t keep it in the fridge. It helps refresh my under-eyes when they’re puffy in the morning, and the formula has a true watery serum texture that spreads easily and sinks in fast. I also like that I can dispense this eye serum onto the rollerball by pressing down on the applicator, which gives me more control over how much I’m using.” —S.Y.W.

More to know:

  • Key ingredients: Green tea, caffeine, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid.
  • Fragrance-free: Yes.
  • Fast facts: Cooling massage applicator; lightweight serum texture; absorbs fast; helps depuff and brighten.

Why we love it: This fast-absorbing eye serum is the most lightweight out of the Korean eye creams we tested. It’s packed with dermatologist-recommended ingredients for under eyes, such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and peptides. It also comes with a metal rollerball applicator for a built-in massage, as well as a press-to-dispense tube that lets you control the amount of product you apply. The fast-absorbing, barely-there feel makes it a top pick for layering under concealer, particularly if you’re concerned about creasing.

Glamour’s Wu says: “I saw this collagen eye cream all over my Instagram when it first launched, so naturally, I had to investigate further. It’s another great option for a cooling morning massage to de-puff eye bags. My favourite thing about this formula is how well it layers under concealer. It helps my makeup sit smoother, look glowier, and doesn’t cause creasing. The main reason I don’t use this as much as I used to is that my skin has gone from combination to dry over the last couple of years, and at times I want something that feels more intensely hydrating. Combination and oily skin types will absolutely love this, though; it’s so light and fresh that it definitely won’t make your eye area feel greasy in the slightest.” —S.Y.W.

More to know:

  • Key ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, jojoba seed oil, green apple extract, peptides.
  • Fragrance-free: Yes.
  • Fast facts: Lightweight, refreshing texture; cooling rollerball applicator; layers well under makeup.

Your Korean Eye Cream FAQs, Answered:

What ingredients should you look for in a Korean eye cream?

Opt for a combination of traditional eye cream ingredients and those popular in Korean skincare. “For hydration and barrier support, I would look for ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol, ceramides, and squalane,” says Dr. Hwang. “For fine lines and elasticity, peptides, adenosine, retinal, retinol, or bakuchiol can be helpful, although retinoids should be used carefully around the eyes because the skin is thinner and more sensitive. For brightening or uneven tone, ingredients such as niacinamide, vitamin C derivatives, liquorice root extract, and tranexamic acid may be useful, while caffeine can help with the temporary appearance of puffiness.”

Dr. Chung says that caffeine and green tea are a particularly effective pairing for de-puffing. “Caffeine reduces swelling by constricting blood vessels and reducing excess fluid, while anti-inflammatory ingredients like green tea extract reduce inflammation,” she says.

Are Korean eye creams good for mature skin?

Yes, although you should be realistic about how much of an impact topical eye creams can have on deep-set wrinkles and crow’s feet. “Korean eye creams can be helpful for mature skin, particularly when the concerns are dryness, crepiness, fine lines, and mild loss of elasticity,” says Dr. Hwang. “A well-formulated eye cream can make the eye area look smoother, more hydrated, and less tired.” That said, if you’re targeting deep lines around the eye area, he suggests in-clinic treatments to enhance results.

Are Korean eye creams good for dark circles?

Yes, but it depends on the intensity of your dark circles, as well as their underlying cause. “Dark circles are more complicated because they can be caused by pigmentation, visible blood vessels under thin skin, puffiness, or anatomical shadowing from volume loss,” says Dr. Hwang. “Korean eye creams may help when the cause is dullness, pigmentation, dryness, or mild puffiness, but they cannot fully correct structural hollowing or tear trough shadowing.”

How to choose the best Korean eye cream for you

When it comes to choosing the best Korean eye cream for you, start with your main concerns, then work from there. “My advice is to choose an eye cream based on the main concern you’re targeting, not just the word ‘anti-aging’ on the label,” says Dr. Hwang. “If the concern is dryness and fine lines, I would prioritize hydrating and barrier-repairing ingredients; if the concern is firmness or early wrinkles, peptides, adenosine, or gentle retinoids may be more appropriate. For dark circles, brown-toned pigmentation may respond better to brightening ingredients like niacinamide or vitamin C derivatives, while puffiness may benefit from caffeine or lighter gel-cream textures.” He also advises trying one that already fits with the rest of the formulas you use in your daily routine. “In general, the best eye cream is not necessarily the strongest one; tolerability and long-term consistency are just as important,” he says.
