Everyone’s favourite nosy girl is back with season two of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. The hit show is an adaptation of Holly Jackson’s beloved YA book series and took both Netflix and BBC iPlayer by storm. Season two draws from the second novel in the series, Good Girl, Bad Blood.
It stars some of the freshest British talent as well as some seasoned pros, and is all filmed around Bristol. While season one followed an older case of a local girl supposedly killed by her boyfriend, season two follows a very hot and active missing persons case. If you love Netflix documentaries like Should I Marry a Murderer or Worst Ex Ever, or any good true crime, you’re going to love this.
Let's meet the cast of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season two.
Who is in the cast of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder season 2?
It’ll come as no surprise that Emma Myers is returning as our titular “good girl,” aka Pip — the Nancy Drew-esque teenage detective at the centre of the show. She’s bigger than ever now, too, with her own podcast.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder marked one of Myers’ first leading roles, though she’s also known for playing Enid Sinclair opposite Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams in Wednesday, as well as appearing in the films Family Switch and A Minecraft Movie.
This one felt a little less certain for a moment there. Zain Iqbal plays Ravi, the younger brother of Sal Singh, who was believed to have murdered his girlfriend. He’s also Pip’s romantic interest, and very much the Watson to her Sherlock. We were briefly worried their romance wouldn’t make it into season two, but with Iqbal’s return now confirmed, things are looking promising.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder marks Iqbal’s first major TV role to date, though he has previously appeared in the 2022 independent film All Crazy Random and the short films Why ME? and Death, Whatever!.
As for the rest of the friend group, Jude Morgan-Collie returns as Connor. His brother, Jamie, disappears in the second series, setting up the season’s central mystery. Morgan-Collie also appeared in season one of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
Beyond the series, Morgan-Collie is best known for his leading role in the BBC sitcom Here We Go, alongside Ghosts star Jim Howick and Rivals actor Katherine Parkinson. He also played a young John Connor in the 2019 blockbuster Terminator: Dark Fate.
Yali Topol Margalith portrays Lauren, another member of Pip’s friendship group.
Beyond her role in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, she has appeared in The Tattooist of Auschwitz and House of David. She’s also set to feature in two major 2026 releases: Finding Emily and Disney’s Alice and Steve.
Cara was another character we weren’t sure we’d see in season two, given what happened to her family in the previous series. Asha Banks plays Cara Ward, Pip’s closest friend. It was revealed that her father, Elliot Ward (Matthew Baynton), was the murderer of Ravi’s brother Sal (Rahul Pattni). He was also having an affair with the late Andie Bell. Thanks to Pip, his crimes were uncovered, but what does this mean for his family?
Banks had already gained recognition among younger BBC audiences through her appearance in the CBBC series Rebel Cheer Squad, and also stars as Noah Leister in Prime Video’s My Fault: London trilogy, adapted from the Spanish romantic films.
In season one, it was revealed that Max Hastings, played by Henry Ashton, had been drugging and sexually assaulting female classmates. While this was not linked to Andie’s death, it was uncovered during the investigation. He returns in season two, where he’ll be facing trial.
Ashton can also be seen in a considerably lighter role in Prime Video’s fantasy period romance My Lady Jane, as well as in two episodes of Outlander in 2023, where he played Sandy Hammond. He’ll next appear in Prime Video’s rom-com follow-up Red, White and Royal Wedding.
Another person who may be on trial — or at least appear during Max’s trial — is Becca Bell. Played by Carla Woodcock, Becca is Andie’s younger sister, who inadvertently killed her and then attempted to cover it up by targeting Pip. Yikes.
Woodcock has also appeared in Outlander, playing Amaranthus Grey in the most recent season, and secured her breakthrough role as Susie Garrett in the British Netflix drama Free Rein. She has additionally featured in Ackley Bridge, The Colour Room, and the BBC Three sitcom Such Brave Girls.
Returning as Pip’s father, Victor, we have the talented Gary Beadle. They shared particularly heartwarming scenes in season one, so we can’t wait to see more of them.
Beadle’s career spans numerous prominent British productions, from early appearances in Absolutely Fabulous and EastEnders as Paul Trueman, to his role as Archdeacon Gabriel Atubo in Grantchester between 2017 and 2021. His recent work includes Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time, Netflix’s The Gentlemen, and BBC One drama Babies.
And as Pip’s mother, Anna Maxwell Martin returns as Leanne Amobi. We see her struggling to support her daughter while also trying to keep her safe — a natural mother’s instinct.
Maxwell Martin has also appeared in some of television’s biggest recent successes. From her lauded comedic performance in Motherland to playing an antagonist in Line of Duty, as well as the true crime drama Until I Kill You and mystery-comedy Ludwig, she’s become one of Britain’s most familiar television faces over the past two decades. She is also set to appear in Apple TV+’s forthcoming Star City.
Lastly, Jack Rowan returns as Charlie Green, Pip’s fresh-faced neighbour. Audiences will know Rowan from his performances in Peaky Blinders as Bonnie Gold and Noughts + Crosses as Callum MacGregor. His credits also include Wreck and A Town Called Malice.
New to the cast of season two of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, we have Misia Butler as Stanley Forbes. Stanley works for the local newspaper, bringing him into Pip’s investigation.
Who could forget Misia Butler as Caeneus in KAOS?! Aside from this, he’s appeared in The School for Good and Evil and Kiss Me First.
As our victim for the season, we have Eden Hambelton Davies as Jamie Reynolds. He is Connor’s older brother, who goes missing, and Pip steps in when the police aren’t stepping up. Soon, she ends up tangled in a tale of catfishing, deceit and buried secrets.
He played Jonny in Tell Me Everything, but otherwise is relatively new to the scene.
