Dark comedy meets Greek mythology in new Netflix TV series KAOS – starring Jeff Goldblum, Billie Piper and a whole array of other stars. And a trailer has just dropped.

Created by The End of the F***ing World's Charlie Covell, we know it'll be something with a Greek tragedy, with a few modern twists. And the name? It's a take on the word chaos. “The world is kind of born from chaos,” Covell told Netflix's TUDUM. “We think the word chaos is bad. But actually, chaos is good, possibly.”

And if the trailer is anything to go by, Billie will be serving us a pretty incredible transformation into her character Cassandra, complete with rotten teeth and black marks on her face.

Here's everything else we know so far about KAOS.

KAOS plot

According to Netflix's synopsis, “KAOS is a bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology: exploring love, power, and life in the underworld.

"It is an irreverent dramedy, inspired by Greek mythology (no degree in classics required!). A dysfunctional family (of gods) - cruel fathers, wayward sons, discontented wives and warring brothers -  the series takes a fresh look at power structures and the idea of the 1%.”

“Zeus (Jeff Goldblum) has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods,” the streamer adds. “That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming – and starts to see signs of it everywhere.”

We are completely up for this.

KAOS cast

Joining Jeff Goldblum and Billie Piper will be Suzy Eddie Izzard, David Thewlis as Hades, Janet McTeer will play Hera, Cliff Curtis, Nabhaan Rizwan, Killian Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Misia Butler, Leila Farzad, Rakie Ayola and Stanley Townsend.
