Worst Ex Ever is back for season two, and the show has brought out the big guns, a.k.a. Geoffrey Paschel and Wade Wilson. And honestly? We were not prepared for this wild ride.
Netflix knows exactly how to spin an unbelievable true-crime documentary, whether that’s Louis Theroux's Inside the Manosphere, Trust Me: The False Prophet, or Should I Marry a Murderer? — spoiler alert: probably not. And as we inch towards summer, it’s time to wrap up our current TV binges, from Married at First Sight Australia to Worst Ex Ever, before we’re forced to go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
In case you missed the memo, Worst Ex Ever is a true-crime docuseries that “dissects the dark side of love through eyewitness testimonies.” It’s also enough to make anyone swear off dating apps for the foreseeable future.
Episode two of the new season, titled “Primetime Predator”, follows Geoffrey Paschel through a disturbing history of domestic abuse allegations, multiple divorces, and a stint on reality television — yes, really. Naturally, viewers are all asking the same question: Where is Worst Ex Ever’s Geoffrey Paschel now?
Who is Geoffrey Paschel?
Born in 1977, Geoffrey Paschel is from Knoxville, where he restored and managed several rental properties. He also worked as an actor, landing small roles in crime TV shows including Fatal Attraction, Snapped and Homicide Hunter.
School teacher Kristen Wilson met Paschel on a dating site and, at first, everything appeared idyllic. Wilson described their seemingly perfect life together, saying their lifestyles aligned effortlessly, and recalled “falling in love” with Paschel’s children as though they were her own. But behind the scenes, her partner was allegedly hiding a long list of secrets.
Wilson later discovered Paschel had been married before and had previous charges against him. When she confronted him, she claims he initially convinced her the allegations had been exaggerated, but later she experienced that the abuse became directed at her, too.
How many times had Geoffrey Pachel been married before?
It later emerged that Paschel had been married four times before. His first marriage, to his high school sweetheart, began in 1995 — and she also appears in Worst Ex Ever. After the relationship ended in an annulment, Paschel went on to marry three more times, in 1998, 2007 and 2015, and became the father of at least four children, including his late son Kazhem, who died in March 2018 at just 13 months old.
Paschel had also reportedly been arrested multiple times on assault and driving while intoxicated charges. According to the series, there had been previous allegations of violence made by former partners.
In July 2001, Paschel pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison. According to Worst Ex Ever, he was released in July 2003.
What happened to Kristen Wilson?
In June 2019, just months before Geoffrey Paschel began filming 90 Day Fiancé, police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at Kristen Wilson’s home. Wilson alleged that Paschel had violently attacked her.
According to a statement released at the time by the Knox County District Attorney General’s office, “Paschel grabbed the victim by the neck and slammed her head against the wall several times,” adding that Wilson was allegedly “thrown to the ground and dragged.”
Wilson later said in Worst Ex Ever that, after Paschel fell asleep that night, she managed to escape to a neighbour’s house and call 911. Paschel was arrested the following day and charged with aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls.
What reality TV show was Geoffrey Paschel on?
Worst Ex Ever isn’t Geoffrey Paschel’s first brush with reality television.
Despite the looming criminal charges against him, Paschel appeared on season four of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in 2020. On the show, Paschel pursued a relationship with Russian woman Varya Malina — all while still engaged to Kristen Wilson.
Although Paschel was arrested and charged in June 2019, his trial was delayed until October 2021 due to COVID-19-related court backlogs. According to Worst Ex Ever, the delays allowed him to travel to Russia in July 2019 to film 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days despite having an active domestic violence case pending against him.
At the time, TLC described Paschel’s storyline in a press release, stating: “The last few years have been rough for Geoffrey. Shortly after his second marriage ended in divorce, he suffered the tragic loss of his son. But life started to look up when he met Varya on an international dating site.” The network added that the pair had bonded over their “shared love of adventure” and that Paschel was considering proposing during his trip to Russia.
However, viewers soon uncovered details of Paschel’s past, sparking major backlash online. The controversy ultimately led to TLC excluding him from the show’s reunion special.
Did Geoffrey Pachel go to jail?
In October 2021, Geoffrey Paschel went to trial, where — after a two-day proceeding — he was found guilty on all three counts: aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls. During the trial, Paschel claimed that Kristen Wilson’s injuries were self-inflicted, an assertion the prosecution disputed.
According to statements from the District Attorney’s office, his prior criminal history was considered during sentencing. Testimony from former partners was also presented; one of Paschel’s ex-wives, Allison, alleged that he had raped and abused her throughout their marriage.
In February 2022, Paschel was sentenced to 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
Where is Geoffrey Pachel now?
As of May 2026, Geoffrey Paschel is serving his sentence at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center in Tennessee. According to the Tennessee Department of Correction, his projected release date is 12 December 2037.
Reports also suggest Paschel has been taking part in prison education programmes aimed at “making his day meaningful,” including classes focused on addiction and anger management.
Are Geoffrey Pachel and Varya Malina still together?
Despite his prison sentence and the allegations made by multiple women, Geoffrey Paschel’s fiancée, Varya Malina, has continued to publicly support him through his trial and beyond.
Since the release of the Netflix documentary, she has made her Instagram account private. However, prior to that, she shared updates that appeared to confirm she is still standing by Paschel. Her last post, in September 2025, featured several photos of the pair hiking together, with a caption reading: “Happy birthday. Even though we can’t celebrate together today, my heart is with you every moment.”
At just 18, she was sexually coerced on a boat by a famous man. Now, she's ready to talk.
In an earlier post, Malina addressed rumours about their relationship, writing: “It’s been a rumour going around that I broke up with Geoffrey and went to Puerto Rico to celebrate my single life. It is obviously a product of somebody’s sick imagination. Geoffrey and I are the closest of people and the most important emotional support for each other. You’ll see us reunited soon.”
Malina has also shared YouTube videos discussing Paschel’s life in prison, including claims that he works in “intake,” a role she described as “one of the best jobs” available. She also said his time in prison has been “horrifying” and “an absolute nightmare,” adding that she visits him frequently and that they are making plans for the future, saying: “I’m pretty sure these plans will come true sooner than you think they will.”
