Our stylish edit of the best winter scarves (including that style you keep seeing on Instagram)
There’s a reason the fashion crowd love the refreshingly cold days of winter - besides the designer ankle boots and stylish coats, cooler climes are when fashion really gets fun. Why, I hear your ask? It's because, during the colder months, it’s all about layering - playing with the perfect proportions and layers to achieve a look that’s a whole lot more interesting than just throwing on a summer dress.
Gone are the days when it was considered cool to leave the house wearing as little as possible in -2 degree temps. Winter dressing is all about looking and staying as cosy as you would be in your pyjamas under the covers - which we’re very happy about, considering we’re all starting to miss those endless days spent binge-watching Netflix in bed.

Whether your daily style as you step out still consists of chic tracksuits or you’ve started to make the effort to put on jeans with your cropped jumpers, the finishing touch to any winter layering look is a fabulous winter scarf. Last year, a a quick scroll through some of the most stylish Instagram accounts showed that there was one winter scarf repeatedly flung around the neck of some of the best-dressed women out there - an Acne Studios wool scarf. At £150, it's quite an investment to make, but if you're looking for one of the best winter scarves out there that you'll wear season after season, this is it. We bet it'll make a comeback this winter.

We have, however, rounded up a whole lot of other stylish winter scarves to keep you warm throughout the cold months until Spring arrives. If you love the classic simplicity of an Acne scarf but not the price tag, consider Arket's double-faced wool style. To add a bit of interest to your look, brightly coloured scarves are a quick style update - this Arch4 scarf in this year's green or this frayed edge scarf from Mango are both ranking high up on our wishlists right now.

Finally, if leaving the bed to head outside feels like mission impossible when things start to really drop in temperature, we suggest ordering this H&M brushed finish scarf stat - it's essentially a blanket for your upper body but looks effortlessly cool too - who said fashion couldn't be comfortable?
