25 one piece swimsuits to consider before you pack your suitcase
Featured in this article
What's the most versatile item in your summer wardrobe? If it's not one of the best one piece swimsuits, it might be time to invest.
It goes without saying that their primary purpose is, of course, to wear in the water and/or while sunbathing, but any great swimming costume will have you covered when it comes to activities beyond that too. Planning on going from beach to bar but don't want to bring a spare outfit? Wear your swimsuit as a bodysuit. Just add a cover up and you're good to go. I'm a firm believer in practicality and style.
Don't get me wrong; summer dresses, sandals, beach bags and linen trousers are all extremely hardworking, but a one-piece is something you'll keep in your chest of drawers year-round – not rotate out when the colder seasons approach.
Now those summer travels are growing, so are our Google tabs browsing our favourite swimwear brands. As such, I'm declaring it officially time to invest in a few new swimsuits (before everyone else beats you to it).
You only have to look at the SS26 runway trends to know what to add to basket ahead of your holiday. Chloé and Ermanno Scervino made a strong case for polka dots (duh) being this season's go-to pattern for swimwear and beyond. But it's not just prints making a statement.
Ruffles, OTT structures and floral appliqué made waves – sorry not sorry – thanks to Genny and PatBo. If you're more of a block colour girl, you really can't go wrong here, the runways have you covered, too. Givenchy and Kent&Curwen walked classic reds down the runway whilst elsewhere pastels are still a firm favourite for summer.
Whatever you're drawn to this season I've rounded up the very best picks to shop right now.
Glamour-approved one-piece swimsuits, at a glance:
- Best crinkle swimsuit: Square Neck Swimsuit, £175, Hunza G
- Best padded swimsuit: Padded Beaded Scoop Neck Swimsuit, £36, Marks & Spencer
- Best high-leg swimsuit: Cannes One Piece, £225, Away That Day
Whether you're planning on spending the majority of the season in your own garden or you've got the holiday of a lifetime booked, now is the perfect time to mix it up. Don't have the luxury of any private outdoor space? Not got a vacation booked just yet? Then why not road-test (park-test?) a new one piece swimsuit style slightly more modestly by wearing it with a pair of your favourite denim shorts? After all, the true test of a great cozzie has always been how many times you can re-wear it.
Ahead, the best one-piece swimsuits for summer 2026 to add to your basket immediately.
Why you can trust me
I've worked in the fashion industry for nearly nine years now. It's basically my job to stay in the know with what's trending and what's actually worth buying. That means attending press days and Fashion Weeks, chatting with PRs and brands, and often getting to glimpse new collections before anyone else. It's a tough gig, I know. Not forgetting I ask the Glamour team for all of their recommendations and advice, too. We aren't a team who gatekeep.
I've leant on my knowledge to create a list of one-piece swimsuits from my favourite high-street brands, as well as some designer picks for anyone looking to splurge. When compiling a list of the best products out there right now I take into consideration colourways on offer, size range, as well as price point and material. I've done the research so you don't have to.
How I tested the best swimsuits
As I've mentioned the Glamour team aren't one to keep style secrets, so you'll see pictured above I asked to see some of our editors' faves in situ. Our writers and contributors are continually testing the best one-piece swimsuits across multiple seasons as new styles launch. Believe me, whenever any of us have the chance we're testing out swimming costumes lounging and swimming at the beach and the pool. If one of us hasn't tested a specific product that's been featured, you can trust that I've referred to customer reviews or tried other products from the brand before.
Don't forget to also shop the best bikinis, sunglasses and modest swimwear ahead of your upcoming getaway.
