Do you ever feel like fashion trends and pop culture are whipping around you at lightning speed, and no matter what you do, you just can't keep up? (Because you have a job and can't spend 24/7 online.) If you feel even more out of touch in recent years, it might not just be because you're getting old: the trend cycle has indeed cranked up the speed. According to Pinterest's annual trend report, trends are growing 4.4 times faster than they were seven years ago.
Pinterest Predicts is the yearly trend report that compiles search data to make informed predictions on what we'll be wearing and doing the following year. Since 600 million people visit Pinterest each month, this provides them with unique insight into the visuals that inspire people. By analysing year-over-year growth, Pinterest can identify rising trends and has achieved 88% accuracy over the past 6 years.
For 2026, many of the trends on the list were tied in some way to nostalgia or escapism, which has been a common theme in fashion and beauty in recent years and is an indication of how we all feel about the world currently. (Spoiler: not great.)
The report includes 21 predictions which span fashion, beauty, homeware and leisure trends. We've picked out the 10 fashion trends that are most likely to influence your wardrobe next year.
Gimme gummy
Gen Z and millennials are embracing their inner child with the trend for all things gummy and squishy. Bendy phone cases, rubberised nail art and childlike 3D jewellery are just some of the ways this trend is predicted to manifest. There's also been a 130% rise in the searches for “jelly blush”, which are cheek tints which are more gel-like as opposed to powdery. It's more than gummy bear jewellery: jelly-like food is also trending, with searches for the Japanese dessert “yokan” having risen 60%.

Glamoratti
The ‘80s are so back, baby. Quiet luxury? We don't know her. This trend is all about decadence. Power suits with padded shoulders and an oversized fit will dominate, as evidenced by a 90% rise in the term “baggy suit”. Funnel necks will also be a main feature, with “high collar jacket” rising by 60%. Our love affair with statement jewellery will continue, with gold cuffs, chunky belts and costume jewels dominating the scene.

Poetcore
While not many would be prepared to live the life of a poet, they certainly want to look like one. (Or, at least the romanticised idea of one!) “The poet aesthetic” search term has risen by 175%. The key features of this look include preppy staples like oversized turtlenecks, vintage blazers, messenger satchels, capes and ties. An interesting search term is “tie accessories”, which has risen by 85% and combines the growing trend for ties with fashion's current love for customisation.
Brooched
Speaking of customisation, brooches are in. It makes sense: accessories from bag charms to stickers are trending, plus there's a growing appetite for vintage costume jewellery. While Pinterest notes that the trend is popular with boomer and millennial men, we've spotted brooches on the most stylish women, too. Key words include “maximalist accessories" (up 105%) and “heirloom jewellery” (up 45%).

Laced up
You might have noticed the popularity of lacy tights this year. The love for lace is only set to grow in 2026, giving us lacy collars, bandanas and belts. Our wardrobe will be influenced by the “lace doily” – a term up by 105% –, but that's not all. Lace will influence beauty trends too, with “lace nails” rising by a whopping 215% and “lace make-up” by 120%. Adorable.

Meet the cold months in style with these winter shoe trends.

Khaki coded
We've already seen how dressing like a poet will be cool next year, but how about a palaeontologist? (Seriously, “palaeontologist aesthetic” is up by 35%.) Not unlike the rise in dressing like a ballerina, it seems like cosplaying certain lifestyles or careers is a growing trend. Khaki bermuda shorts, utility jackets, vests with pockets and brown linen shirts are some of the features of this style.
Cool blue
This icy blue is set to be one of the hottest colours of 2026. The cool-toned shade will influence everything from our outerwear to glacier-inspired jewellery to blue cocktails. Make-up isn't safe from its influence either, with “frosted make-up” up by 150%. An early adopter of this trend is drag performer Bimini, who sported snow-kissed make-up at the recent Fashion Awards. If you're a bride-to-be who's considering an unconventional wedding dress, perhaps consider this colour? Interest in ice blue wedding dresses has risen by 55%.

Wilderkind
Animal prints are hardly a new trend, but next year we'll be going softer than strong leopard or zebra prints. The vibe is more enchanted forest than safari, with fawn prints, dragonfly nails, bug-like jewellery and fox-inspired outfits. It's an aesthetic that we've seen channelled by Chappell Roan this year at her concerts, which saw her dressing as a luna moth and a thistle.

Extra celestial
The clean girl is dead. Instead, we're looking to aliens for our beauty and fashion inspo. Holographic tones, opalescent eye shadows and jewels and avant-garde cosmic silhouettes will have us looking like we stepped out of a sci-fi film. “Alien core aesthetic” is up by 80%, with “alien-inspired make-up” making even more of a splash, at 140%.

Opera aesthetic
From futuristic fashion, we turn to vintage opulence. Drama and theatricality is so in, from sumptuous drapery and luxurious jewels, to lavishly decorated parties inspired by vintage balls. “Midnight masquerade” is up by 95%, whereas “opera outfits” are up by 55%. We've also noticed the rise of millinery (AKA hats!), which fits into this extravagant style. Who says no one wants to get dressed up anymore?
