The most iconic beauty moments from the 90s that will make you feel so damn nostalgic
Ah, the 90s. Weekends were spent singing ‘football’s coming home’, high-kicking with some serious girl power and boogying along to The Macarena.
David and Victoria Beckham had just hooked up, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow were still going strong, Nicole Kidman was towering over Tom Cruise on the red carpet, RuPaul was serving up vintage fierceness and Destiny's Child gave us Say My Name. What. A. Belter. Name a better era. Go on, we'll wait.
As well as some iconic celebrity pairings and some major 'cultural moments' (Elizabeth Hurley in that Versace safety pin dress, the 1990s served up some brilliant beauty looks and trends.
We might have a penchant for contour and plume brows these days but the 90s gave us blue eyeshadow, razor-thin brows, cashmere skin, brown lipliner and, of course, chunky highlights.
Whilst we might look back and shudder at some of the decade's makeup fads (dark lip liner), others have made a more welcome comeback into our beauty repertoire (pass the scrunchies) and we're more than happy to take inspo from Britney Spears in Hit Me Baby One More Time circa 1999.

We're not the only ones feeling nostalgic. Reese Witherspoon recently took to Instagram to share a 90s throwback captioned: "Ahhh... 90s style. Going through some old photos and pretty sure @gwenstefani is responsible for this hair trend, @drewbarrymore inspired these eyebrows and @jaredleto is responsible for my leather choker. 🤪 😛🤣 Thanks guys! #tbt".
If you've run out of things to do in isolation and are looking for some much-needed escapism, you've come to the right place.
We've got Kelly Rowland's pixie cut! We've got Geri Halliwell's stripey highlights! We've got Kate Moss' heroine chic smokey eye! Fancy taking a trip down memory lane?
