The Gigi Hadid x Frankies Bikinis swimwear collection is exactly what summer ordered, and it's officially available to shop today
The new Gigi Hadid x Frankies Bikinis collection has finally landed, and it's one you’re going to want to snap up ASAP. Californian swimwear brand Frankies Bikinis have already been quite the hit this year with their sell-out Cassie from Euphoria swimsuit, but if you thought the iconic label would stop there, you thought wrong.
With the first drop launching today – Wednesday 11th May – and the second on Thursday 2nd June at 4pm, the line-up is full of pieces that combine nostalgia with femininity and folk-fairytale in equal measure.
The joint effort between the founder and creative director Francesca Aiello and the international supermodel is evident, but the inspiration behind the designs lies in Gigi’s farming roots back at her dreamy Pennsylvania family home. Picture ditsy floral and gingham prints, milkmaid-style necklines and ruffles. Just what summer ordered.
Having grown up together on the sandy beaches of Malibu, it was only a matter of time before the two forward-thinking women formed an alliance and put their heads together. Francesca describes Gigi Hadid as someone who is “creative, hard-working, kind and loving,” and that combining those personality traits is what made the collection fun to create and exciting to shoot.
The prints are delicate and the silhouettes are flirty and feminine, but the addition of terry cloth fabrics, eyelet details and pastel hues are what truly hone in on the care-free attitude of Gigi herself. “Both Francesca and I have very social lives but also are big homebodies, and the collection really embodies that side of us,” Gigi said. “It’s a special full-circle moment for me and Frank. We’ve known each other since before we ever thought dreams like this could come true.”
Look for personal touches, such as a tree stump found in the toile print which represents the two creative’s friendship, and the baby and mother deer that symbolises the joy that motherhood has brought into Gigi’s life, as proof of the thoughtfulness behind the assemblage.
There are over 90 pieces to the collaboration, ranging from bikinis to swimsuits and even loungewear, with select styles available in sizes XS to XXL.
