The most viral red carpet fashion moments of 2024

When it comes to the best celebrity red carpet moments, 2024 has been *chef's kiss*. After all, it gave us that Zendaya-Mugler robo-suit moment at the Dune 2 premiere, and all of Miley Cyrus' looks at the Grammys (welcome back, Miley!).
Daisy Edgar-Jones become a fully-fledged fashion star in front of our eyes thanks to her Twisters press tour, and Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo took themed dressing to a whole, gravity-defying level.
But, as Google has exclusively revealed to GLAMOUR UK, the red carpet looks that got everyone searching in 2024 weren't necessarily the ones you might expect.
In fact, red carpet queen Rihanna didn't make the cut, and a boy (gasp) sits at number two.
Without further ado, these were the best celebrity red carpet moments of 2024, according to the internet…

Despite the controversy around It Ends With Us and its press tour, Blake Lively also made headlines for her many floral ensembles in keeping with her character's career as a florist. This one in particular got everyone buzzing because it's actually the same Versace spring/summer 2003 dress pop princess Britney Spears once wore. “The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and tell our stories,” Blake wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. So excited about your biopic and all you have to come.”

Taylor Swift makes headlines every time she steps out the door, but the Grammys is arguably Taylor's most celebrated night of the year (after all, she's amassed a whopping 52 nominations to date). This year, her red carpet look, a white corseted Schiaparelli gown that she paired with black opera gloves, is reportedly littered with Easter eggs, including a clock choker set to 12am in reference to her Grammy-winning album “Midnights.”

The “Good Luck, Babe” singer made waves as she stepped onto the MTV VMAs red carpet in a full medieval warrior queen ensemble for her first-ever appearance at the awards show, finishing off the look with witchy nails and chainmail cuffs. She of course went on to win the Moon Person for Best New Artist and wore a hooded chainmail Rabanne look to accept the award, looking like a modern-day Joan of Arc.

One thing about Doja Cat, you can never predict what she'll wear on a red carpet, making her one of the most highly-anticipated celeb arrivals at any award show. For the Grammys, the singer preempted any questions about her outfit by tattooing the name of the designer, Dilara Findikoglu on her forehead. In fact, the sheer gown served to show off Doja Cat's many body tats, rendering her ink the true star of the look.

Olivia Wilde always brings her A-game to the Academy Museum Gala. In 2022, her breast-baring Alexandre Vaulthier haute couture dress caused quite a stir, and this year, fans went, um, wild, for her green lace Erdem drop-waist dress with pockets. A red carpet queen through-and-through.
Jeff Kravitz/Getty Images5. Miley Cyrus at the 2024 Grammy Awards
Let's not kid ourselves. Miley Cyrus was the one and only winner of the 2024 Grammys. The “Flowers” singer not only won Record of the Year, her outfits were the talk of the town for weeks to come. All five of her looks by longtime stylist Bradley Kenneth were fabulous from top-to-toe, but it was her John Galliano for Maison Margiela couture naked dress on the carpet that stole the show.

Udo Salters/Getty Images3. Sabrina Carpenter at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards
2024 was undoubtedly Sabrina Carpenter's year. Her songs “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” took home every prize imaginable, but her MTV VMAs red carpet look will also go down in fashion history. Sabrina paid homage to a pop legend that night, wearing a vintage Bob Mackie strapless gown previously worn by Madonna to the 1991.

All eyes were on Barry Keoghan as the Irish actor was up against Hollywood heavy-weights Leo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper for the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama category, and while he did not take home the trophy, his look certainly beat out the rest. Barry wore a dashing red Louis Vuitton look in heritage Damier from the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, finished off with intricate details like a golden belt chain, pearl necklace and Tiffany & Co. earrings.

When Zendaya steps on the red carpet, everyone else is just playing for second. The actress is in her own league when it comes to fashion, and her Dune 2 London premiere look, a bum-baring, archival vintage Thierry Mugler robot suit, pretty much broke the internet. It is, without question, *the* best look of 2024. All hail Queen Z.
