Twisters star Daisy Edgar-Jones is kicking up a fashion storm of her own thanks to her dazzling tour wardrobe, and we can’t help but notice an uncanny similarity with looks from a certain 90s rom com classic.
The actress plays scientist Kate Cooper in the thrilling sequel to the 1996 film of the same name, which follows a group of storm-chasing academics studying a mighty tornado.
But in the lead up to the premiere, it’s Daisy’s head-turning looks—and bangs—that have been brewing excitement. While the Normal People and Where The Crawdads Sing actress is no stranger to best-dressed lists, in part thanks to her celebrity stylist Dani Michelle (who is also the mastermind behind some of Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner’s flawless looks) her latest red carpet looks have been giving off an extra dose of Old Hollywood glamour.
Exhibit A: Daisy blew us away with a chocolate, corseted Vivienne Westwood number at the European premiere, complete with floor-sweeping black sash that felt like an extension to her lush locks. It was followed by an angelic, cowl-necked column by Gucci, for whom Daisy is a house ambassador, that made her an elevated poster girl of the European summer trend.
As we dissected her tour wardrobe (yes, we're just a little obsessed), we began noticing a familiar pattern—big gold button details one day and crisp capris the next? Why, this is the wardrobe of none other than Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Whether that was on Dani and Daisy’s moodboard we might never know, but what we do know is we’re loving their modern, um, spin, on the retro favourites.

Huge.” When Julia Roberts’ character Vivian Ward uttered those famous words, she was wearing a white, bold-shouldered dress adorned with big buttons, complete with a floppy hat and white gloves. For Daisy’s twist on the Old Money look, she wore a tomato-red Schiaparelli mini dress with gold buttons and chunky, vintage-style jewellery.
Every rom com worth its salt has a big Cinderella reveal and this sweetheart ball gown designed by Vance marked the pivotal moment the two protagonists fell in love. With its corseted bodice and draped skirt, one could be forgiven for mistaking it as a Vivienne Westwood creation. We could easily imagine Daisy’s look at the European premiere floating across the lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Arguably one of the most beloved aspects of the Pretty Woman wardrobe is the range—after all, we go from thigh-high boots and wigs to ball gowns in just under 2 hours 30 minutes. Daisy’s tour wardrobe has hit all the same notes (minus *that* mini one-piece Vivian wore on Hollywood Boulevard). While promoting Twisters, Daisy wore a beige Camilla and Marc suit with Khaite sandals, and we can’t help but recall Vivian’s cherry Bermuda shorts look signalling the end of her social transformation.
