Zendaya really can do no wrong. She turned heads at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards — celebrating outstanding representations and achievements of people of colour in motion pictures, television, music, and literature — with her drop-dead 90s beauty revival look and we see exactly why.
The young Euphoria starlet has not only made a name for herself as a Disney-star turned Hollywood royalty, but she also has made a convincing case for being a top beauty icon. Many have asked for her to swiftly drop her skincare routine, while others are quick to jump on any hair trend she’s seen sporting. When Zendaya got her butt-skimming cornrows, we all wanted butt-skimming cornrows. When Zendaya opted for auburn hair, we all dyed our hair red. Zendaya gets a cute side-parted rolled bob, and we’re all down to the salon getting ours chopped. The power she holds.
The look she sported on the NAACP red carpet was a modern take to 90s beauty, we’re talking brown lip liner and matte lip, thin brows, muted copper blush, a slick Nia Long a rolled bob fit for any female lead character on a Black sitcom show… you name it. It all came together nicely, and she married the look well with her vintage Atelier Versace Couture dress and the white 1993 two piece Prada fit she wore at the ceremony.
Zendaya's bob is a work of art and her hairstylist, Tai Simon, dropped the details on Instagram of all the products she used to achieve the look. It features OGX Beauty Silk Blowout Spray, OGX Beauty Coconut Curls Decadent Creamy Mousse, Tangle Teezer Wide Tooth Comb, £8.40 to soften the curls and the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, £359.99, for that ultimate blow out.

As for the makeup, Celebrity MUA and Session Artist, Raoul Alejandre didn't drop too many details, but one thing we know is that the cashmere skin trend is clearly active in Hollywood. This is the gentle hit of beauty nostalgia we needed and who could do it better than Zendaya?
Zendaya was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her role in HBO’s Euphoria and although she didn’t win big in terms of acting awards at the NAACP Image Awards, she most certainly won the red carpet.
