Following a lengthy three years (that felt more like three decades) after series two ended, you can now, finally, watch Good Omens season three, as it's dropped on Prime Video. The hit show has gained millions of fans for the captivating and unlikely duo of Aziraphale and Crowley and their hilarious and heartfelt mishaps. Here's everything you need to know about season three of the cult show.
What is Good Omens about?
Starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen — two of the UK's best actors — Good Omens follows the story of angel Aziraphale (Sheen) and the demon Crowley (Tennant), who are both lifelong besties living on Earth. Having spent thousands of years together and developing a fondness for the planet, they both become opposed to Armageddon — something that's put to the test when Satan's son is born, and they have to track him down to stop the end times. All making for very thrilling viewing.
It's based on the bestselling book of the same name by Neil Gaiman (the show's creator and, until recently, a showrunner, who has since left following multiple allegations of sexual assault) and Terry Pratchett, published in 1990.
For the uninitiated, season two finished off with the Metatron offering Aziraphale the godly position of Supreme Archangel — the perfect opportunity for the angel and Crowley to lead Heaven together and avoid the end of times (as well as giving Crowley the chance to trade his demon horns in for angel wings once again). Ultimately, though, Crowley refuses to return to the Heaven that he views as toxic and backward, and the iconic duo part their ways. As we embark on season three, Aziraphale is in Heaven and Crowley has driven off into the night. TBC.
