Are your Spidey senses tingling? You guessed it, Spider-Man 4 is swinging into cinemas sooner than you think!
The synopsis reads, "Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man. But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced."
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has dropped, along with the full cast list. Obviously, you can expect Tom Holland and Zendaya, but there's plenty more rounding out the superhero crew. Ready to meet the new and returning faces of Spider-Man 4?
Who’s in the new Spider-Man cast?
Our leading man, our web-slinging hero, Spider-Man himself, is front and centre, naturally. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. At the end of the last film, Parker was completely alone, having erased himself from everyone’s lives, and now, we’ll see him navigating his way back to the people he loves.
Yep, Holland’s real-life fiancée — scratch that, maybe wife? — Zendaya returns as his love interest, or at least she did before everyone’s memories were wiped. Their chemistry is so electric, it’s got to pull her back, right? Right?! We honestly can’t wait to see more of Zendaya in Spider-Man 4.
Making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut is Sadie Sink. Her role is still under wraps, but we can’t help but wonder… could she be a rival for Parker’s affections? Sink is best known for Stranger Things, as well as starring in the West End production of Romeo and Juliet.
Making his first appearance in the modern MCU is Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. This fan-favourite antihero takes the law into his own hands, using violence and lethal force in his crusade against crime, so he could be either a friend or a foe for Spider-Man.
Producer Kevin Feige has teased that the character will have a “different tonality” in the film, with less focus on his usual violent antics to fit the movie’s rating.
Who can resist a crossover?! Especially in the MCU. Mark Ruffalo has brought Bruce Banner to life in countless Marvel films, including Iron Man 3, Thor: Ragnarok, and Captain Marvel. In this film, Banner has swapped superhero duties for the classroom as a college professor, and it’ll be great to see a familiar face helping Parker navigate his latest challenges.
Reprising his role as Ned Leeds, aka Parker’s former bestie, is Jacob Batalon. A steadfast member of the trio, we’re genuinely relieved he’ll be swinging back into the mix.
Best known for his role in Severance, Tramell Tillman is joining Spider-Man 4, though his exact role is still under wraps.
We last saw Michael Mando, aka Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, when he was taken down by our web-slinging hero. Now, he’s swinging back into the MCU. A quick refresher: he’s a criminal equipped with a suit of armour and a mechanised scorpion-like tail, definitely not someone you want to cross paths with.
Rapper and actor Marvin “Marv” Jones III will portray Lonnie Lincoln, aka Tombstone. A crime boss with albinism, near-indestructible skin, and superhuman strength, he’s definitely not someone Spider-Man’s webs are likely to slow down!
We loved Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero in The Bear, and now we can’t wait to see what she’s bringing to Spider-Man 4. Her role is still under wraps, but we’re ready for anything!
Another undisclosed role in Spider-Man 4 will be played by Eman Esfandi. He’s best known for portraying the Jedi Ezra Bridger in the Disney+ series Ahsoka.
Charlie Cox is reportedly joining the cast of Spider-Man 4, though nothing has been officially confirmed. If true, he’s expected to reprise his MCU role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil; the blind lawyer with superhuman senses from Hell’s Kitchen who leads a double life as a masked vigilante. He previously served as Parker’s lawyer during the events of No Way Home.
We’re also waiting to hear who will take on the roles of Boomerang and Tarantula, as well as how the mysterious organisation The Hand will feature in the film. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated on all the latest Spider-Man 4 casting news!
