30 of the best TV shows on Disney+, from The Stolen Girl to Dying For Sex
Disney+ has come a long way since it launched in the UK back in March 2020.
Don't get us wrong – from the get-go, we were loving the wealth of nostalgic films the streaming service offers, from Disney classics like the original Beauty and The Beast to remakes like 2019's Beyoncé-starring The Lion King – plus Get A Clue, The Princess Diaries, Mrs. Doubtfire, Lizzie McGuire… all our trusty old favourites, basically, and the chance to watch musicals like Oklahoma and Hamilton from the comfort of our own homes.
Julianne Moore and Fiona Shaw's characters' sexuality is not the subject of the narrative, merely the context.
There's a whole range of TV and documentary offerings available on demand. From nature documentaries to reality shows and nostalgic classics (That's So Raven marathon, anyone?), there’s plenty of choice for when a whole film feels like a little too much to commit to. And that's before we've even delved into the incredible Disney+ original Marvel series, like WandaVision, Loki, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Not yet satisfied? Scroll further through the Disney+ archives and you'll find an impressive catalogue of 30 entire seasons of The Simpsons – turns out Springfield is a pretty good place to escape to when the real world is scary – plus every episode of Lizzie McGuire you binged on when you were little, and Meghan Markle’s nature documentary, Elephant. But there's more to the abduction than meets the eye – and Mod plays a journalist determined to uncover the truth.

Ben BlackallIt's A Sin
This British television drama, chronicling the HIV and AIDS epidemic of the 1980s, is nothing short of a masterpiece. Watch for an important and poignant history lesson, alongside stellar performances from everyone from newcomers Lydia West and Omari Douglas to veteran actors Stephen Fry and Neil Patrick Harris.

We cannot stop thinking about this 2021 documentary series, which covers the creation of The Beatles' Let It Be album, drawing on unused footage from a previous documentary made in the 70s and recorded during the making of the album. For hardcore Beatles fans, the eight hours of footage will be too short if anything.

For those who aren't familiar with the hit horror anthology series, each season tackles new, wholly American terrors that will spook the living daylights out of you. We're talking a house haunted by murderous spirits, a Catholic insane asylum from the 1960s, a hotel filled with serial killers and crazy cults on the rise - and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Starring former GLAMOUR cover star Elizabeth Olsen, the miniseries is based on the Marvel Comics characters Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch and Vision and is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It picks up after where 2019's Avengers: Endgame ends, so it's consistent with other Marvel creations and sees Wanda and Vision's picture-perfect 70s sitcom-esque suburban lives disrupted when they realise not all is what it seems.

Can you imagine the pressure of being in charge of one of the most successful animated films of the century? Nope – us neither. It gives us heart palpitations just thinking about it. This documentary goes behind the scenes of the making of the films, including eye-opening interviews with the cast and crew. It's a must-watch.

The name might be a little long-winded, but we're still over the moon to be able to return to East High. Everyone's favourite guilty pleasure film trilogy has been brought to back life in a docu-style series, following a group of students who re-enact High School Musical for their winter production. Featuring original songs from the 2006 film, as well as new original numbers, it's great nostalgic watching. Get your hairbrush mic at the ready...

The breakout hit for Britain’s newest streaming service, Disney+, The Mandalorian is a Star Wars live-action TV series from Jon Favreau. It stars Game of Thrones ’ Pedro Pascal and is set in the Star Wars universe, somewhere between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Don't worry if you're not a die-hard Star Wars fan – it's far enough removed from the franchise that you can still enjoy it with your other (Star Wars-loving) half.
