Odessa A’zion, star of Marty Supreme and I Love LA, just proved that the naked dress trend still has room to evolve – and we're absolutely loving it.
For the 79th edition of the BAFTAs, which took place in London this evening, America's favourite new star arrived in a custom dress designed by Jonathan Anderson for the French fashion house Dior. The two-tiered dress featured a bubble-shaped top layer and a floor-length full skirt, both crafted out of stunning black floral lace.
Instead of a classic bandeau neckline, the gown features off-the-shoulder straps in a matching material, while the top layer created an illusion of pockets that A'zion took as an opportunity to play with while posing on the carpet.
But while the Dior dress might seem like a sombre choice at first, it was definitely elevated with the custom embroidery and glistening black paillettes that added depth to the see-through black lace. With so much intricate detailing, the outfit felt like a perfect hybrid of the classic black dress and the naked dress. And just like that, these old ideas feel totally fresh.
The subtle nude vibe was taken into the beauty department, too. Nominated for her role as Rachel Mizler in Marty Supreme, Odessa A'zion's accessorised her look with a signature mane of jet black curls and an almost-too-long fringe that framed her green eyes. The barely-there make-up also gave way for the jewellery to shine bright. A'zion chose oversized statements from Swarovski, including their Mesmera Choker and Sublima rings.
Simple yet oh, so fabulous. It's Odessa A'zion's recipe to style success and we're totally here for it.
