Jake Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett's unintentional photobomb

An earnest attempt by Jake Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett to get out of shot to let Only Murders in the Building stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short shine only served to draw more attention.

In trying to not photobomb them, they unintentionally photobombed them to the nth degree. Celebs are just humans too, you guys.

Later expanding on her comments, Hannah Einbinder said “It is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel. Our religion and our culture is such an important and long-standing institution that is really separate to this sort of ethnonationalist state.”

Just in time for autumn, Gilmore Girls alumni Lauren Graham (Lorelei) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) reunited at the 77th Emmy Awards to commemorate the 25th (!) anniversary of the comedy drama series.

In their segment, Lauren honoured their ownership of the season, saying “25 years ago a show called Gilmore Girls premiered and apparently took the season of fall hostage.” Facts.

Needless to say, everyone was as obsessed with this deeply nostalgic moment as much as we are.

Megan Stalter's red carpet moment

Mother is mothering.

Too Much's Megan Stalter threw on a white tee and blue jeans for the 77th Emmys, allowing her black bag embellished with a handwritten note reading ‘CEASE FIRE!’ to take centre stage.

In an interview with Variety, Stalter explained “It's the most important to stick up for people and for peace... We have to use our platforms. What's the point of being at these big events if you're not going to use your privilege?”

Cristin Millioti absolutely vibing

Cristin Millioti won her first Emmy Award for Lead Limited Series Actress for her role as Sofia Gigante in HBO's The Penguin. Through tears during her speech, a visibly shocked Milloti said “Sorry, I wrote this on the back of notes I took in therapy the other day, so don't look at the back."

A relatable queen. But what we loved the most was her straight vibing as she walked off the stage from accepting her award. We love to see it.

Adolescence's Owen Cooper becomes the youngest ever male Emmy winner

Making Emmy history, Adolescence's 15-year-old Owen Cooper won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, becoming the youngest ever male Emmy winner.

During his acceptance speech, Cooper said “Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be in the United States, never mind here. But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life."

Many felt the award was one of the most well deserved of the night, and we'd be inclined to agree.

Nate Bargatze's solution to long Emmys speeches

Emmys 2025 host Nate Bargatze was taking no prisoners, announcing that he would be donating $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, though with the caveat that the grand total would decrease $1,000 for each second that a winner went over their allotted acceptance speech time (45 seconds), with a dropping total flashing up on screen in realtime.

While Seth Rogan's speech was so concise that the total actually increased, Hannah Einbinder's speech while accepting her award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series saw this total drop an eye-watering $20,000.

Thankfully, Bargatze isn't in fact Scrooge. The Emmys ceremony concluded just three minutes out of 11pm ET, and while Bargatze said the amount of money lost was “embarrassing”, he clarified that CBS was going to contribute $100,000 to the donation while he would personally give $250,000. “It takes us to $350,000 for the Boys and Girls Club”, he said.
