Stephen Graham's Adolescence just won big at the 2025 Emmys, and for good reason.
Now the second-highest viewed series globally on Netflix, the show was nominated for an impressive 13 Emmy Awards, going on to win the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series or Movie Emmy along with three further Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
In fact, Owen Cooper who plays Jamie in the series has become the youngest ever male Emmy winner at just 15. While accepting his Emmy, Cooper said “Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be in the United States, never mind here. But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life."
Congratulations to the entire Adolescence cast.
TV's biggest night is here.

So if you're wondering where you can watch Adolescence to see why the show has scooped up so many Emmys, here's what to know.
First off, the gripping four-part series is unlike anything we've ever seen. Each hour-long episode is a standalone single shot. In real-time, we watch the story unravel: Jamie is a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a female classmate.
As we take a glimpse inside his social environment at school and inside his own mind during a session with a child psychologist, we slowly begin to realise just how dark the story is. It's not fun TV, but it is vital. As GLAMOUR's Entertainment Director, Emily Maddick put it, it's the most terrifying TV we've seen in years.
So, we've established that the show is something we should all be tuning into. But where can you watch Adolescence?
What is Adolescence about?
Unlike many crime dramas, Adolescence isn't actually about whether or not Jamie killed his classmate, Katie. Instead, it's about why. Jamie's story may not be based on one true story, but, perhaps even more chilling, it's based on multiple real events that have taken place in the UK.
“There was an incident where a young boy [allegedly] stabbed a girl,” said co-creator and actor Stephen Graham said to Netflix's Tudum. “It shocked me. I was thinking, ‘What’s going on? What’s happening in society where a boy stabs a girl to death? What’s the inciting incident here?’ And then it happened again, and it happened again, and it happened again. I really just wanted to shine a light on it, and ask, ‘Why is this happening today? What’s going on? How have we come to this?’ ”
The truth behind Netflix's unsettling tale.

Graham and his co-creator, writer Jack Thorne, aimed to raise these questions without necessarily offering an answer.
After all, they are hugely important questions to be asking in the current climate. Male violence against women is more and more common as the “manosphere” grows. In the UK, 3,000 offences against women are reported every day. Adolescence looks at this cultural shift with nuance and compassion and asks us all to really consider why.
Where to watch Adolescence
Adolescence is available to watch in full on Netflix now, having dropped on the streamer on 13 March.
As a vocal male ally to women watching Netflix’s Adolescence reinforced the fact we urgently need more male allies.
