Since Vinted became our collective side hustle, few of us cling to wardrobe heroes until they literally fall apart. Yet, I've been loyal — in a committed relationship with the COS Swing Bag for two years. But finally, the sell-out style is back, this time in a new, rather luxe, bordeaux hue, and I'm seriously considering an upgrade.
IMO, it's functional fashion at its very best, allowing you to keep your phone and lip gloss within easy reach, whether heading to the office or boarding a plane. But the fashion set has also praised the crossbody bag for its ability to add a utilitarian edge to any outfit, whether that be a double-breasted blazer and wide-leg trousers, or barrel jeans and a white tee.
Previously, COS has been my go-to for premium basics — say, straight-leg jeans and knitwear crafted from high-quality materials and cut into classic shapes. But the COS Swing Bag first caught my attention in 2023 when it was only available in black. Then it became a viral hit again in 2025 following the launch of fresh colourways — go-with-everything khaki, a cream better suited to the summer seasons, metallic silver and an avant-garde metallic blue.
But it's the oxblood hue that has me sold on re-committing to the COS Swing Bag yet again. Sitting somewhere between aubergine purple and oxblood red, it's seriously luxe and guaranteed to add some warmth to any 'fit.
And, if the Isabel Marant Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear runway is anything to go by, the sling silhouette is set to stay well into 2026.
You'll know that this isn't the first time a high-street staple has gone viral. So far this year, we've mutually obsessed over UGG's Ellis Loafer, a £38 suede bomber from George at ASDA (yep, really), and our love for the Arket Puffer Coat hasn't wavered.
The one thing they all have in common? They look way more expensive than they actually are — some might even say designer — and they're so timeless that we'd be willing to bet our homes on the fact you'll still be wearing them in three years. Talk about cost per wear.
In terms of what I'll be wearing the COS Swing Bag with, I'm in favour of a wide-leg jean and boxy tee — taking inspo from Romeca De Metz — using the sling bag to break up my basics. Or, like Millie Holmes, I'll lean heavily into the utilitarian theme, pairing it with a funnel neck suede jacket and chunky loafers.

If you ask me why it's sold out twice over, I'd say it's the combination of soft leather, adjustable strap and slouchy crescent moon shape, reminiscent of The Row's famed Banana Bag. And slung over trench coats, wool coats or duvet coats, it does some clever cinching, playing into another of our favourite Spring 2026 trends.
