Louis Theroux's latest offering, Inside the Manosphere, sees the famous documentarian turning his focus on the troubling subculture of the “manosphere". In an attempt to understand the rising trend of regressive gender ideals and misogyny, Louis speaks to well-known influencers in the men's rights movement, including HSTikkyTokky, aka Harrison Sullivan, Myron Gaine and Justin Waller.

In the film, Louis spends time chatting with these influencers in their homes and on their podcasts and live streams. He also has some brief conversations with the women in their lives — women who, for the most part, seem ready not only to accept, but to support, their gender regressive views.

There's Kacey May, whom HSTikkyTokky introduces to Louis as his “dishwasher and cleaner.” There's Angie, girlfriend of Myron Gaines, and Kristen, girlfriend of Justin Waller, both of whom claim they are accepting of their respective partners' belief in “one-way monogamy”. We also meet see a clip featuring the infamous OnlyFans creator Bonnie Blue, who is interviewed by HSTikkyTokky, who says, “What girl is worse to idolise than this? There are other things that you could have done.” She replied that she expected him to be “more educated”. Then there's Ellie, the “sexy plasterer", an OnlyFans model who works with HSTikkyTokky and Elaine, HSTikTokky's mum.

Here is a close look at some of the women featured in the new documentary.

Who is Angie?

We meet Angie while Louis is talking to influencer and podcaster Myron Gaines. She has been dating him, we learn, for around two years.

“I say to my friends and to people that always question our relationship that Myron is somebody in front of the cameras, but behind them he's somebody else with me and I love him very much and I will love him as long as we're together," she tells Louis.

When Louis presses her on Myron's belief in “one-way monogamy”, she explains that she doesn't mind as long as their relationship remains his most important. "The women that he sleeps with, he's just going to be with them for like, a night," she said.

When Louis asks her about Myron's claim that he hopes to one day have multiple wives, she becomes a little uncomfortable and responds that she isn't sure “how it would work”.

Later in the documentary, it is revealed that Angie and Myron broke up “six months ago”.

According to Myron, Angie was ready to start a family, which was the main reason they split. “That's what she wants, and she's been waiting around for a minute, so who the f**k am I to tell her, ‘Nah, keep waiting,’ or deny her that,” Myron later said on Instagram, per The Evening Standard.

Who is Kristen Waller?

Kristen Waller is a former X-ray technician whose partner is influencer Justin Waller. At the time of filming, the pair shared two children with another on the way. The pair are unmarried.

“I like to tell people we have lanes," she says in the film of their approach to daily life. "My lane is changing diapers, cooking and cleaning, and his lane is working. We don't cross into each other's lane. It works for us.”

Justin, like Myron, believes in “one-way monogamy”.

Kristen apparently agrees, saying it works as a “don't ask, don't tell” situation.

As for her new life as a stay-at-home partner and mother, she said: “I loved my job, but I don't miss having to wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning and put on scrubs and clock in and, like, have to work for somebody else. I feel so good in my femininity because of how masculine Justin is… I, to my core, believe that as human beings, male and female, that's how it's supposed to be.”

Who is Elaine Sullivan?

Most women are not like my mum,” HSTikkyTokky says of his mother at one point. “Most women are thick.”

“I don't think of him as HS; he's Harrison,” Elaine tells Louis.

When pressed on her son's views about gender roles, she replies that no one believes in “absolutely everything their child” does or says. “Of course, there are things that I don't agree with, and he knows that.”

She does push back on her son's double standard when it comes to sexual partners and his belief that women shouldn't have multiple partners.

“The way women are stereotyped if they have multiple partners," she said, before adding, “I find it extraordinary. But it's been like that since the beginning of time.”
