Leo Woodall has once again been cast as a leading man following his success in One Day, this time starring opposite Rachel Weisz in Netflix TV series Vladimir.
Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Julia May Jonas, it explores power dynamics, obsession and desire between a woman (Weisz) and her captivating co-worker, played by Woodall. After his rather successful turn as the younger lover of Bridget Jones in last year's Mad About The Boy (as well as some excellent turns in The White Lotus and One Day, as mentioned), we are rather keen to see more of him, we won't lie.
Weisz, who is beyond beguiling and sexy in everything she does — from starring in The Favourite with Olivia Coleman and Emma Stone to queer drama Disobedience and My Cousin Rachel — will also executive produce, alongside Catastrophe and Bad Sisters actor and creator Sharon Horgan.
“With Kate Robin’s expertise in crafting layered, darkly comedic female stories, a script that deftly examines the complexity of attraction and moral ambiguities, and the incomparable Rachel Weisz leading the cast, this project is a powerhouse collaboration of talented women," Tracey Pakosta, vice president of comedy series at Netflix, has said. "We can’t wait for our fans to be as obsessed with Vladimir as we are.”
"I fell in love with Julia’s writing from the very first paragraph,” Horgan has said. “I feel very lucky and incredibly excited for Merman [Horgan's production company] to bring Vladimir to life... Getting to partner with Netflix and have Rachel attached is a thrill, and a testament to the brilliance of the scripts.”
Here's everything else we know so far about Vladimir, including the trailer and release date.
What is Vladimir about?
IMDB's synopsis for the series reads: “A woman's life spirals as she develops an obsession with her alluring coworker. Her determination to make her fantasies real leads to dark, humorous, and complicated situations.”
You can actually sleep in Cathy's bedroom.

Netflix has added: “Full of sexy secrets, dark humour, and complex characters, Vladimir is about what happens when a woman is hell-bent on turning her fantasies into reality. Woodall (One Day, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy) will play the new colleague.”
We now have further information: “To add insult to injury, her husband, John (Slattery), with whom she has an open marriage, is facing allegations of sexual assault from the college where they’ve both worked for decades. These scrutinised relationships — which took place many years ago and were believed to be consensual — were with college-aged students.”
Who is in the cast of Vladimir?
The cast of Vladimir is as captivating as the plot itself — and there are plenty of familiar faces to keep an eye on.
Rachel Weisz stars as the unnamed protagonist, navigating a pivotal moment in both her professional and personal life, while Leo Woodall takes on the role of Vladimir, her enigmatic younger colleague.
Weisz’s on-screen family rounds out the story: her sole child, Sid, is played by Ellen Robertson, and her husband is brought to life by John Slattery. They’re joined by a stellar supporting cast, including Jessica Henwick, Kayli Carter, Matt Walsh, Elisa Moolecherry, and Tattiawna Jones, each adding depth and intrigue to the drama.
When will Vladimir be released?
The wait is almost over. Vladimir drops on Netflix on March 5, and trust us, this isn’t one to miss.
