Owen Harris, known for directing episodes from Black Mirror, Misfits, and The Twilight Zone, will be leading on the first season's first three episodes, while Martin and Ira Parker are set to write and executive produce the series.

So what do we know about the Game of Thrones spin-off so far? Here's what's been revealed about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ debut season so far, including when it's due to be released, as well as plot, cast and trailer.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms plot

Set a century prior to the events of Game of Thrones, the upcoming fantasy drama series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg books, with the first season due to adapt the initial novella The Hedge Knight and to be followed with adaptations of The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms takes place during a time when Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and images of the last dragon remain in living memory, seeing two unlikely heroes navigating their way through trials and tribulations in Westeros. The series is set to focus on the young yet valiant knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg.
