Sophie Donovan

Sophie is Glamour's Senior Commerce Writer, who joined the team back in September 2024. Her role is to oversee Glamour's wellness and gifting shopping strategy, while also contributing to the brand’s fashion shopping content, and supporting Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day coverage.

Sophie has spent the past two years reviewing the latest wellness launches (including period pants, running trainers and supplements) for Cosmopolitan UK, Women’s Health UK, Men’s Health UK, GQ, Conde Nast Traveller – and now Glamour. However, her journalism career began back in 2019 when she achieved an NCTJ Gold Standard Diploma in Multimedia Journalism from News Associates. Before this, she earned a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with International Honours from the University of Leeds and the University of Queensland.

After leaving full-time education, she spent three years working at The Sun: one year gaining experience across various desks — including Showbiz, Production, and Fabulous Magazine — as part of the paper’s graduate programme, followed by two years working for Dear Deidre. There, her responsibilities included publishing a weekly advice column offering sex, financial, and mental health support, as well as assisting with the launch of the brand’s Instagram page and first podcast series.

As for personal interests, fashion — particularly street style — has always piqued her interest, so much so that she completed UAL's Fashion Styling Online Short Course in March 2022. When she’s not planning outfit ideas on Pinterest or sharing her favourite high-street finds on TikTok, Sophie is also a keen runner and a proud member of The Groove Chorus.
