25 best summer wedding guest dresses for 2026
Featured in this article
Me and a daily Google search for the best summer wedding guest dresses seem to go hand-in-hand at the moment. I've got three weddings to attend and they're all set to take place between the end of June and start of September, AKA the balmiest months in the UK forecast, so finding a cool-but-dressy frock has never been more important.
Spring wedding guest dresses, autumn wedding guest dresses and winter wedding guest dresses have their own array of sticking points, of course, but sourcing one of the best wedding guest dresses that'll keep me looking flawless in sweltering climes is a totally different ball game. So I'm finding, anyway.
There's a lot to consider; from steering clear of sweat patches during the day to refraining from being mistaken as the bride in anything that veers too near white, plus avoiding co-ordinating with the bridesmaids. You'd be forgiven for struggling when it comes to striking the perfect balance of glam/not-too-glam/practical.
Of course, we also all want to actually wear something that feels of-the-moment. For the SS26 season, there's a lot of focus on pastel hues. Dior, Victoria Beckham, Valentino and Celine proved shades of light blue (cornflower, in particular) are going to be sky high in popularity, while Givenchy and Balmain are still championing butter yellow.
From my curation of trend-led, fashion writer-approved summer wedding guest dresses below, you're sure to find something you'll adore long after their big day.
Ahead, our full edit of the best summer wedding guest dresses 2026.
How I tested the best summer wedding guest dresses
Every year, twice a year, I conduct a photoshoot where myself and a handful of other editors at Glamour test out the best summer wedding guest dresses and give our verdicts on our favourite ones in a bid to save you from an endless trawl on the internet. We'll take to the streets of London, styling each frock up to exactly how we'd wear it for someone's wedding, to demonstrate how the fabric moves and looks in genuine, unedited video clips and photos.
My next shoot is scheduled for the end of April, so while I haven't tested the dresses included in this round-up just yet – I'm about to. Stay tuned for our thoughts, and read more about how we test here in the meantime.
Why you can trust me
I've worked in the fashion industry for eight years now, attending everything from press days to runways during Fashion Week, witnessing new collections before they hit the market – so I know what's worth investing in (and what's not).
As mentioned, I've got a handful of nuptials to RSVP to this year, so with that in mind I've been compiling a list of dresses from my favourite high-street brands to some of the top designer labels. I've sourced them via the best online clothing stores as well as the best rental sites, taking things like colour variety, size range, material and price into consideration. When we get round to testing the styles I've shortlisted, I'll make sure a variety of sizes, shapes and heights are included so you can see each dress on a few different bodies.
After something else? I've also compiled round-ups of maternity wedding guest dresses, ASOS wedding guest dresses and beach wedding guest dresses. For more from Glamour UK's Senior Commerce Writer Georgia Trodd, follow her on Instagram @georgiatrodd.
