It's my job to unbox sex toy Advent calendars, and these are the best for 2025
Featured in this article
It's one of the highlights of my job as a real-life Ms Bradshaw: getting to review the contents of this year's sex toy Advent calendars, often long before they actually hit the shelves. And with this being my third year on the job, I feel I'm qualified to say that we're getting more bang — that being quality vibrators — hidden behind those cardboard doors than ever before.
For the sceptical who say non-chocolate Advent calendars stuffed with sex toys are actually full of novelty naughties no one wants. Simply put, no. “Sex toy advent calendars are a very fun way to introduce vibes and such into a relationship,” reminds Head of Brand at Smile Makers Collection, Samantha Marshall. “Both getting excited about what’s behind the next door, sparking conversations about desires, boundaries, and fantasies — whilst also offering the perfect excuse to try something new!”
So, which are worth your money? So far, we've been impressed by the likes of Lovehoney, Ann Summers and Satisfyer, all packing 12- and 24-day bundles guaranteed to bring on intense pleasure. Specifically, an array of full-sized clit suckers, vibrating cock rings, nipple clamps and water-based lube, from the best sex toy shops online. Although considering these adventurous and non-chocolate Advent calendars are already flying off the virtual shelves, we suggest you act quickly.

How I test the best sex toy Advent calendars:
Upon recieving each alternative advent calendar, our very willing volunteer (me) examined the outer packaging before opening every door. After charging each vibrator up, I moved through the various pre-programmed modes and sampled every lube during solo masturbation and partnered play.
I then scored the contents of each door against the following criteria:
| Ease of use | Were the drawers easy to open, and the calendars simple to store? |
| Speed and intensity of orgasm | Did the sex toys and sex games included provide pleasurable sensations without intense effort? |
| Design | Is the exterior of the calendar cute? Were the clit suckers, vibrating cock rings and vibrators inside ergonomic, easy to hold and fit for purpose? |
| Contents | Was there enough variety? Any unique inclusions I haven't seen in other sex toy advent calendars? Or are they just novelty items I don't actually want/need? |
| Value for money | Did it save me a substantial amount when compared to checking out on each product individually? |
Why you can trust me:
I've been reviewing sexual wellness products, including sex toys, lubricant, condoms and sex games, for the past two years — one year in a previous job, and for 13 months at Glamour. I've reviewed vibrators across all categories, including wand vibrators, clit suckers and remote-control vibrators, and from a wide selection of brands, including LELO, Lovehoney, Ann Summers and Smile Makers Collection. During that time, I've seen countless trends come and go, including the end of our years-long obsession with the Rose Sex Toy and a shift to sex tech powered by AI.
To ensure I am an authority on sexual wellness, I regularly attend press days, read the latest journals, interview countless sexual wellness experts and brand founders, as well as personally review as many new launches as possible. As such, I clued up more the best emerging brands, new releases and which products are worth your money way more than your average sex toy user.
While I am not a beginner, I regular take this perspective into consideration, despite myself being an experienced sex toy user. I should also mention that I am heterosexual and regularly use sex toys with my male-identifing partner. I personally prefer clitoral or dual-stimulation over G-spot play, however am open to reviewing all sex toy types in the name of research.

Ahead, the best sex toy Advent calendars for Christmas 2025, reviewed by GLAMOUR editors:
The benefits of investing in a sex toy Advent calendar:
Aside from the fact that you're setting yourself up for a daily dose of adult entertainment, there are serious benefits to welcoming the best sex toy, as well as BDSM accessories and sex games found in sex toy Advent calendars, into the bedroom.
"Sex toy Advent calendars can be the ultimate gift to yourself or your relationship," says Annabelle Knight, Sex & Relationships Expert at Lovehoney. “They’re packed with premium items that can turn up the fun and keep things fresh in the bedroom every day. Whether you’re exploring solo or with a partner, with these calendars, each day can be a chance to try something new, building excitement as you unlock each surprise.”
She continues: "Sex toys add a whole new dimension to intimacy and self-pleasure by encouraging you to explore what feels good, boosting confidence, and enhancing your connection with your body and desires.
“Toys can increase pleasure, prolong fun, and even help you reach new kinds of sensations you haven’t experienced before. Plus, using toys with a partner can open up conversations around pleasure, deepen trust, and help you both feel even more in sync."
And it seems Samantha Marshall, Head of brand at Smile Makers Collection, agrees: “It really ups the playfulness and gives people to opportunity to step outside of their routine and try something new that they may never have considered before.”
Top tips for couples using sex toys and BDSM aids for the first time:
While we've got her attention, we thought it wise to ask Annabelle for pointers on incorporating the best vibrators and handcuffs for the first time…
“Begin with toys that feel manageable, like a small bullet vibrator or blindfold, and let yourselves get comfortable. Toys and BDSM aids work best when there’s open communication and trust between you both, so discuss your boundaries and expectations first.”
“Talking about what you’d like to try can be thrilling and help you learn more about each other’s preferences. Establish a safe word and check in regularly to make sure you’re both comfortable and enjoying the experience.”
“Adding toys or BDSM aids should be fun, not intimidating. Approach it with a sense of adventure and laughter, which can take the pressure off and keep the mood light and enjoyable.”
"Try not to rush to use everything at once; going slow can help you learn what you enjoy with each item, discovering what feels best for both of you.”
Water-based lubricants to pop in your bedside table.

When does Advent start in 2025?
Mark your calendars, as this year, Advent kicks off on Sunday, November 30th, running until Wednesday, December 24th 2025.
But for those wondering what exactly Advent is, it's the four weeks leading up to Christmas Day. The little Latin word actually means ‘arrival’ and refers to Jesus Christ’s birthday. Although for most, it's an excuse to start our day with a dose of chocolate, beauty minis or a brand-new vibrator.
When do Advent calendars go on sale?
It gets earlier and earlier every year, with some of our favourite brands — specifically Lovehoney, Cult Beauty and LookFantastic — launching their 24-day offerings as early as mid-August. We do recommend you get organised, though, as some of these alternative Advent calendars were sold out by mid-November.
Proof that switching sides can be a very good thing.
