Before queen Rhi Rhi debuted a romantic chest-length chop, lightly waved and finished off with a soft, choppy fringe. The lockdown-friendly style just goes to show how we can put all that extra regrowth to good use, given that bobs, lobs and midi cuts have been accumulating some extra centimetres over the past few weeks. As for her fringe, it's long enough to be parted and swept to either side, making it chic and versatile.

It's safe to say, Rihanna can pull off any look. And she's not afraid to push the envelope either. If there's a tricky-to-pull of hairstyle that needs slaying, Ri-Ri's happy to step in to show us all how it's done.

We've taken a look back at all the fierce hairstyles Rihanna has rocked over the years. Case in point: the rebel mullet she served up in November – something we, personally, may never be brave enough for.

Rihanna was out for dinner in Santa Monica when she debuted the hairstyle, which features a short, choppy fringe at the front and shoulder-length locks at the back. AKA: The mullet made famous by Eighties rock gods.

Fans went wild, dubbing it 'business in the front, party in the back' and – even though she's moved on from it for now – it’s the cool girls’ go-to haircut for 2021. Everyone from Irina Shayk to Billie Eilish has tried it recently, but Miley Cyrus is the one who’s standing by it. She’s had the look since last May and recently cut it even shorter.

However, it’s not the first time Rihanna has given the hairstyle a whirl. She first tried a dark and edgy rockstar mullet at New York Fashion Week back in 2013 - and we were living for it then, just as much as we are now.

In the past, we've also seen her experiment with a plethora of hair hues from blonde to pink and green, but her latest style is taking things in a more laidback and casual direction (until the next chop of course).

In honour of Rihanna's new 'do, check out some of her most memorable styles in our round-up of her looks over time, including her red hair, her many short hairstyles and her switches between straight and curly locks.
