One minute you're padding round the house in your joggie bottoms and socks, the next you're supposed to be cool, collected and pristinely pulled-together for a Zoom meeting with colleagues and IWPs (Important Work Peeps).
It's not exactly a problem. Four months into lockdown and we've perfected the art of cramming in a workout/sleeping in, before making ourselves look vaguely presentable for the morning meeting in an unprecedented 2:58 minutes. If your team only need to see your top half, that's the focus, which means our hair is literally everything (Phoebe Waller-Bridge knows what's up).
Prep can be key – do yourself a decent braid the night before and you'll be golden come morning whether you leave it in (slightly mussed up, yum), or take it out (hello casual waves).
Another benefit of keeping your hair in a plait or bun is that you can treat your strands to a nourishing conditioning treatment on the sly while, outwardly, your hair looks neatly tied back.
A low bun or ponytail is a fail-safe, but it looks even better if you throw in a couple of snazzy tricks. For instance, keep a section out to wrap around your hair band and it will make your do look approximately 8 zillion times better.
Big curls piled high look phenomenal – especially if you use the ends to create a faux fringe (knocks time off filling in your eyebrows). Or half up-half down means you can slick away greasy roots but make the most of yesterday’s styling throughout your lengths and ends.
