9 chic French beauty trends you need to see from Paris Fashion Week

Lucky for us (and you), Paris Fashion Week brought its A-game backstage in the beauty arena and girl, get ready for some – So Frenchy! So chic! – inspiration.
The main takeaways? Bare but glossy lips are going to be BIG, learn to love your lilac eyeshadow and glitter isn't going anywhere (as if it ever was).
REX1. All that glitters is gold
Not sure which glitter makeup look to go with for your next festival? Take a leaf out of the beauty book from Giambattista Valli and just sprinkle it all over. Hands down the most 'grammed look from PFW.
REX2. Little liner and wet lips
At Dior less was more with a simple stroke of black liner across the top and bottom lids – sans mascara. Lips were also left bare with nothing but a hydrated glow.
REXAkris went down a similar route but smudged their liner for a worn-in look. Lips were similarly naked with a coating of shine.
REXValentino did away with liner altogether, opting for long and sparse false lashes instead. The glossy lip, however, remained. Lesson? Keep a lip balm with you at all times.
REX3. A brush of brown
The top lips at Masha Ma stole the show with a brown, terracotta matte making its mark. In contrast with the left-alone bottom lip, you could truly see the power of this punchy colour. A boss girl shade that'll make your Mondays.
REX4. Blush in all the right places
It was all about rose tones at Chanel, with blush extended to the temple and brow bone. A slightly darker and glossier pink was applied to the lips and we were also a big fan of the peachy pastel nails. Spring has sprung.
REX5. Fresh AF
Balmain brought the no-makeup makeup goods with a fresh-faced complexion we could only dream of waking up with. Cheeks were flushed with a natural peachy tone, eyes tight lined using brown eyeliner, and the lips were coated in a wet (but definitely not gloopy) gloss. Our favourite French girl look from the entire week.
REX6. Loaded lashes
Givenchy drew us in with glowing skin, but we stayed for the dramatic black and coated lashes. Load 'em up girl.
REX7. Bang bang bold red
No French fashion week would be complete without a bold red lip, and they don't get much more HEY HEY than the one at Shiatzy Chen.
REX8. Lilac lids
The eyeshadow didn't stop 'til it hit a brushed-up brow at Journe. Colours ranged from bold reds to pastel blues, but the real show-stopper were the lilac lids.
REXPascal Millet also made use of the muted purple shadow, similarly leaving the lashes mascara-free and working the colour right up to the brow. We feel a trend coming on...
REX9. Crimped and cat-eyed
When hairstylist Andrew José predicted crimped hair to be a big trend for 2018, even we had our doubts. But after seeing this bouncy creation at Sonia Rykiel, we're now convinced. We're getting serious Batman vibes with the cat eye and leather top situation too – meow.
