Meet the experts:

  • Nick Gilbert, founder of fragrance development lab Olfiction, whose expertise lies in the art and science of scent creation.
  • Louise Rigley, Senior Global Brand Manager at GHOST and Designer Parfums, who offers an insider’s perspective on jasmine’s role in crafting unforgettable fragrances.

How we tested the best jasmine perfumes:

I enlisted the help of Georgia Brown (above) and other Glamour contributors to review the best jasmine perfumes.

When it comes to jasmine perfumes, the heart (or middle) notes are where the magic happens. As our experts Gilbert and Rigley explained, these notes shape the character and longevity of the scent, going beyond the fleeting top notes to reveal the true essence of jasmine.

With this in mind, we tested each fragrance on skin over several hours and different days, paying close attention to how the jasmine evolved – from the initial spritz to the final dry down. We also considered how jasmine interacted with other notes, like woods, fruits, and musks, to capture the full sensory experience.

Alongside our own wear tests, we took on board insights from perfumers and brand experts about the craftsmanship and versatility behind jasmine – helping us appreciate not just how these scents smell, but why they work so well. The result is a curated selection of jasmine perfumes that balance quality, wearability, and that unmistakable floral allure you can’t resist.

Why you can trust me:

I, Sophie Cockett, have been literally paid to test new beauty products as part of various roles at women's magazines for the past eight years. From LED face masks to the best foundations and concealers, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Fragrance is a category I am particularly passionate about, and since starting at Glamour, I've written various guides on the subject – including a recent piece on the best rose perfumes for spring and summer. I've also attended many-a new product launch, and interviewed countless perfume experts. Need proof? I spoke to the Global Head of Fragrance at Jo Malone London, Celine Roux, to pull together Glamour's guide to the best autumn fragrances. With that in mind, you could say I know more about perfume than your average beauty sleuth.

1. Best Jasmine Perfume Overall: Penhaligon’s The Bewitching Yasmine Eau de Parfum

This felt like the kind of scent that lingers in a room after you’ve left. I loved it.

Portraits Bewitching Yasmine Eau de Parfum

Why we love it: "This is one of those fragrances that stopped the entire team in its tracks – and I don’t say that lightly. Across our editors, there was a unanimous vote of love for this jasmine perfume the moment it was tested, which is no easy feat in a room full of very opinionated beauty writers with very different fragrance tastes.

"There’s something undeniably captivating about this perfume. At its heart, it’s a rich, smoky-spiced fragrance that leans into cardamom, coffee and incense, before unfolding into a deep, resinous oud that gives it its signature intensity. Yes, the oud is strong, but it’s balanced in a way that feels sensual rather than overwhelming, softened by vanilla and lifted by delicate jasmine so it never tips into being too heavy or dense.

"What makes it so addictive is the contrast: it feels dark and mysterious, but still wearable. Powerful, but not shouty. It’s the kind of scent that lingers in a room after you’ve left, leaving a trail that feels expensive and slightly hypnotic.

“There’s also something about the bottle that completes the fantasy – it feels like a perfume that could sit on your mantlepiece, rather than just a product. It does tip into the luxury category with a much higher price point in comparison high street fragrances, but in our opinion, absolutely worth the investment.”

  • Tester: Georgia Brown.
  • Top notes: Cardamom, coffee.
  • Middle notes: Jasmine sambac, fir resin.
  • Base notes: Laotian oud, vanilla, incense.

2. Best Jasmine Perfume for Date Night: Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum

Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum

This perfume has been a firm favourite of Georgia Brown for a long time.

Why we love it: "The YSL Libre is nothing short of a fragrance phenomenon, offering a chic blend of fruity, floral and musky notes. A true crowd-pleaser, it's a great option to have on your daily perfume rotation – but also my go-to date night perfume. I've used this for almost every dinner and date I've been on with my partner in the past five years.

"I enlisted the help of Georgia Brown to test this fragrance – I already knew I loved it, but wanted to get another opinion – and she confirmed that it is not only beautiful but one of the most long-lasting perfumes she has tried. It opens with that signature lavender note, but it’s softened by orange blossom and warmed through with vanilla, which stops it from feeling too sharp or herbal.

"For me? It's is my ride-or-die perfume – the one I always come back to, no matter what else is sitting on my shelf. I'd argue it works best for evenings out, and it has real staying power without ever feeling overpowering. It’s the kind of scent that becomes part of your identity – familiar, flattering, and always reliable. I also love the bottle – it feels really luxurious and heavy (even if it is a little difficult to dust)."

  • Tester: Sophie Cockett, Glamour's Senior European Commerce Editor and Georgia Brown, Freelance Commerce Writer.
  • Top notes: Tangerine, neroli and lavender.
  • Middle notes: Jasmine sambac and orange blossom.
  • Base notes: White musk and vanilla.

3. Best Unisex Jasmine Perfume: Le Labo Another 13 Eau de Parfum

Le Labo Another 13 Eau de Parfum

Why we love it: “This incredibly sophisticated yet sensual fragrance features notes of earthy moss combined with those of sweet jasmine. The result? A perfect unisex fragrance that's bound to attract an array of compliments wherever you go. It's a great confidence booster too, making it a solid option to wear before an important meeting or a job interview.”

  • Tester: Denise Primbet, Glamour's Beauty Commerce Writer.
  • Top notes: Jasmine.
  • Middle notes: Ambrette seeds and moss.
  • Base notes: Ambroxyde.

4. Most Unique Jasmine Scent: Phlur Father Figure Eau de Parfum

Phlur Father Figure Eau de Parfum

Elle Turner testing Phlur Father Figure for the first time.

Why we love it: “Look up ‘cool girl scent' in the dictionary, and you'll find a picture of this fig perfume, which also has middle notes of jasmine. See, we told you it's a versatile ingredient. This Phlur perfume, Father Figure, is one of the most interesting scents I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot) – totally different to anything else in my collection.

“Inspired by hidden gardens, the fig note (as per the name) takes centre stage here – but that note is beautifully complimented by waterlily and cassis, and heart notes of jasmine, iris and orris. Expect to find vanilla and skin musk in there, too – two elements which make this perfume feel like it is simply making your own skin smell better (rather than enveloping it in something totally new). I think this perfume works best as a daily fragrance, rather than a special occasion perfume, and it's a great buy if you're wanting to fragrance layer, too.”

  • Tester: Elle Turner, Glamour's Senior Beauty Editor, and Georgia Trodd, Glamour's Senior Commerce Writer.
  • Top notes: Fig, cassis and waterlily.
  • Middle notes: Orris, iris and jasmine.
  • Base notes: Skin musk, vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood.

5. Most Intense Jasmine Perfume: Chloé Nomade Jasmin Naturel Intense Eau de Parfum

Chloé Nomade Jasmin Naturel Intense for Her Eau de Parfum

Why we love it: “I'm not exaggerating when I say I can't imagine my life without this jasmine perfume. It has become my signature scent and is hands down the most uplifting fragrance I've ever used (and I've tested a lot). A sun-drenched twist on the original Nomade, this scent wraps creamy jasmine in a warm, gourmand embrace. The sweetness is balanced with a sensual depth, making it feel both fresh and grounded, like a summer’s evening bottled.

“It's sweet but by no means sickly, and the jasmine top notes come through to instantly put a smile on my face (yes, even on the rainiest of days). The middle and base fragrance notes of vanilla and pear make for a unique and intoxicating scent. The only ‘con’ I would give? The richness can feel a little heavy in hotter weather, so it’s best saved for evenings or cooler months.”

  • Tester: Denise Primbet.
  • Top notes: Jasmine.
  • Middle notes: Date accord, pear.
  • Base notes: Vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli.

6. Best for Everyday Wear: Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine Eau de Parfum

Why we love it: "A luminous, free-spirited floral that feels like slipping into a silk dress on a summer afternoon. Juicy mandarin essence opens the fragrance with a burst of brightness, while creamy jasmine grandiflorum and magnolia add depth and romance, anchored by soft, woody sandalwood.

“I'm a fan of all the Gucci Flora scents, especially Magnolia. But this Jasmine perfume is simply gorgeous. The middle notes of jasmine grandiflorum combined with the top notes of mandarin essence make for a hypnotic scent, grounded with woody sandalwood. It smells good enough to eat (but I wouldn't recommend it). My only feedback? The sweetness might lean a little too playful for those who prefer their florals on the moodier, more sophisticated side.”

  • Tested by: Sophie Cockett.
  • Top notes: Mandarin essence.
  • Middle notes: Grandiflorum jasmine, magnolia accord.
  • Base notes: Sandalwood.

7. Best Long-Lasting Jasmine Perfume: Lancôme Paris La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum

Lancôme La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum

Why we love it: “The La Vie est Belle was my signature scent for years, and I had no idea it had jasmine sambac at the heart of it to thank. This is the scent I always go back to when I want to smell incredible all night long (and get loads of compliments in the process). It starts off sweet with notes of blackberry and pear, which create a bright and floral experience before rounding out to hints of jasmine.

“Its bold sweetness can feel overpowering in close quarters – definitely a spritz-light kind of fragrance – but I adore it nonetheless."

  • Tester: Sophie Cockett.
  • Top notes: Pear, blackberry.
  • Middle notes: Pallida iris concrete, orange blossom, jasmine sambac absolutes.
  • Base notes: Heart of patchouli essence.

8. Best Luxury Jasmine Perfume: Diptyque Olene Eau de Toilette

Diptyque Olene Eau de Toilette

Why we love it: “This jasmine perfume is unlike any other jasmine perfume – and a good option for someone who wouldn't normally go for a scent with jasmine notes at the heart. With Narcissus and Honeysuckle combined with Wisteria, it gives all the luxury one would expect from a Diptyque scent: it's a subtle and super feminine fragrance built around delicate flowers. In true Diptyque luxury style, the bottle reflects its floral influence, illustrating the Roman goddess Flora, the goddess of flowers and springtime. A beautiful bottle to match the lovely scent will take pride of place in your fragrance cabinet.

“Its soft, ethereal nature means it doesn’t project far – best for those who prefer an intimate scent rather than a statement-maker.”

  • Tester: Sophie Cockett.
  • Top notes: Narcissus, honeysuckle.
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, wisteria.
  • Base notes: White flowers, green notes.

9. Best Clean-Girl Jasmine Perfume: MERIT BEAUTY Retrospect L'Extrait de Parfum

Image may contain: Bottle, Cosmetics, and Perfume

Merit Beauty Retrospect L'Extrait de Parfum

Why we love it: “Merit Beauty's debut fragrance, Retrospect, offers a sophisticated balance between clean, modern notes and vintage-inspired elements. It opens with a bright burst of pear and bergamot, leading into a soft floral heart of jasmine, rose, and violet. The scent settles into a warm, musky base of vanilla and moss, creating a fragrance that feels both familiar and elevated.

“This feels like the perfect 'clean girl' scent - fresh, light, but still interesting enough to make you want to keep sniffing your wrist. It’s got that soft floral vibe but with a little warmth underneath so it never feels boring. Plus, it lasts really well without being overpowering, which is basically everything you want from a day-to-night fragrance. At £79 for a 30ml bottle, it’s a bit of an investment - but one worth considering if you’re after a signature scent with staying power.”

  • Tested by: Sophie Cockett.
  • Top notes: Bergamot, pear, ambrette, aldehydes.
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, rose, rosemary, violet, orris.
  • Base notes: Vanilla, musk, moss.
