Valentine’s Day is around the corner, which means the hunt for the best date night perfumes is officially on - and I’m here to make it way less stressful. Why I love it: Ok, I can’t really take the credit for this one, because my colleague Georgia Trodd got me onto it after spraying it in the office. Yes, it’s Zara, but it was created with Jo Malone and it’s safe to say she knows exactly what she’s doing. I wear it pretty much every day and keep the 30ml bottle in my work bag for a quick spritz on my way to an after-work date with my husband.
It’s floral and musky in the best way, mixing romantic rose with bergamot and musk so it smells fresh, clean and expensive. Out of everything on this list, it gets me the most compliments and it’s also the cheapest. The only thing is it’s not the longest-lasting, so you’ll want to top it up, but for the price you really don’t mind.
PHLUR Vanilla Skin Eau De Parfum
- Best for: Layering.

Why I love it: I always keep a vanilla fragrance in my rotation. Yes, it’s one of the most common notes out there, but honestly I never get bored of it. And while PHLUR is best known for its inventive body mists (their newer scents Matcha Milk and Berry Cream are currently living on my desk), their Eau de Parfums are just as good, with Vanilla Skin being my favourite (no surprises there).
Sometimes vanilla can tip into too sweet and a bit sickly, even for me, but this one gets it spot on. You still get that cosy vanilla hit, but pink pepper gives it a little kick and sandalwood adds a warm, woody edge so it feels more grown-up. It’s also great for layering when you want to switch things up, because vanilla plays nicely with pretty much everything.
Dior Addict Rosy Glow Eau De Parfum
- Best for: Daytime top-ups.
- Size(s): 30ml.
- Notes: Damascus rose, lychee and dulce de leche.
Why I love it: This is a brand-new launch and it’s been on rotation for me since landing on my desk a few weeks back. I’m already obsessed with the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil, so when the matching fragrances launched, I had to try them. There are three scents to choose from, but Rosy Glow is the one I keep reaching for.
It’s light, flirty and easy to wear, with damascus rose and bright lychee, plus a soft dulce de leche note that gives it a subtle sweetness. It’s great on its own during the day or layered with something deeper in the evening. It won’t last all night, but the bottle is perfectly sized for popping in your bag and topping up.
