Lili Reinhart has shared a refreshingly real selfie of her cystic acne (and the spot stickers she uses to tackle breakouts)
Scrolling Instagram's reel of filtered, flawless celebrity faces can be challenging at the best of times, especially on a bad skin day. Even when we know that the red carpet isn't reality, it's difficult not to compare our own reflections to the smooth skin we see online.
So when a celebrity opens up about their skin struggles, it's an important reminder that not all celebrities are blessed with perfect skin. And one woman that is no stranger to normalising her breakouts is Lili Reinhart.
The Riverdale star has been sharing her experiences with cystic acne for some time, and in a recent Instagram story, the actress showed off her skincare treatment in the form of a seriously cute selfie complete with spot stickers.

This isn't the first time Lili has shared a selfie of her cystic acne to her Instagram Story. In January 2019, the actress shared a photo of her evening skincare regime, her face dotted with blemish cream. Best of all, she captioned it with: 'Tinder profile: Hi I'm Lili. I'm 21, a Virgo, Cali-Girl 😝 And I have cystic acne. Hmu.'

Back in 2018, Lili urged her followers to share their own skin stories under the hashtag #breakoutbuddy, encouraging a wave of skin positivity on social media.
"I guess I got sick of feeling like I was the only one. When I have a breakout, I feel the urge to tell people, 'Yes, I know my skin is breaking out,'" she told People last year. "It's a way to help me feel better about when I express my frustration about it to other people. It's like, 'Yes, I'm aware my skin looks bad. Trust me, I know.' Acknowledging it gets it out of the way. Then we can move past it".
“I find it therapeutic sharing that with my fans because it made me feel like it was OK when I broke out," she said. "It also shows other people that it's OK to break out.” ⠀
Lili has previously credited a curious product called Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing (from eBay) for helping beat her acne.
