Lena Dunham is praised for her refreshingly honest post about her fluctuating weight
After a career with plenty of highs and lows, actress and writer, Lena Dunham, has opened up on Instagram, using side-by-side photos to celebrate how she's gone from "sick in the head and tissues" to "happy, joyous, and free."

It's been over a year since the photo on the left, taken in April 2017, and the one on the right from yesterday. And although Lena talks about her 24-pound weight gain, she says her real journey involves all the ways she's better off today, regardless of how she looks. Preach!
The post racked up over 200,000 likes in its first hour, which is way more than Lena's typical Insta photos (which tend to rack up about 18,000 likes over the course of weeks), so it seems a lot of people are loving it.
Lena says she used to live on sugar, caffeine, and a purse full of meds. Now, she wrote, her diet involves fun and healthy food, and strength derived from lifting dogs and spirits (now that's goals.)
In the shot from yesterday, she's "complimented only by people that matter for reasons that matter," and although Lena admitted she sometimes looks at old photos longingly, she wrote, it's only "until I remember the impossible pain that brought me there and onto my proverbial knees."
"As I type I can feel my back fat rolling up under my shoulder blades." she wrote.
The self-proclaimed 'OG body-positive warrior' has previously spoken out against tabloid headlines, which praised her previous weightloss caused by anxiety and health issues.
But her most recent post proves that no amount of trolling is going to break her, and she feels more empowered than ever.
Pass us some of that motivation, girl!
