CFDA Awards 2016: 11 looks everyone's talking about
The CFDA Awards are fashion's equivalent of the Oscars, when the industry's heavyweights are recogised for their creative achievements.
Like the Met Ball, because it's a fashion event (rather than about film or music), red carpet looks are often directional, rather than purely pretty. This is the awards that Rihanna famously wore that sheer dress and turban.
Even without the ever surprising Rihanna, this year's red carpet was still high - largely thanks to Beyonce, who (to quote Formation) rocked her Givenchy dress/trouser suit.
