Hang Taylor Swift's makeup-free face in the Louvre
We are so here for celebrities wearing no makeup in their selfies.
We're all so used to seeing our favourite celebrities in full glam on the red carpet or at exclusive Hollywood parties, but it's becoming increasingly common for the A-list to share intimate, makeup-free selfies on their social media platforms.
Seeing a celebrity (who has millions of people judging their every move) forgo their makeup routines feels encouraging and totally liberating. After all, between our daily makeup routines and social media filters, it can sometimes feel daunting to go totally bare-faced.
Even popping to the shops without concealer can feel difficult, as we’re often made to feel that natural skin texture is something to hide rather than simply part of being human.

But Taylor Swift used her superstar power to show that ditching the make-up on occasion is a good thing.
To celebrate her single Opalite hitting number one on the Hot 100, Swift posted some behind-the-scenes clips from the making of the song and its video, including one snippet from her songwriting sessions in Sweden, where she left her face bare. No Era's Tour red lippie here!
Another celeb who has previously hopped on the no makeup trend is Adele, who celebrated an epic moment as she held onto a shiny Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for One Night Only on CBS.

And while we were thrilled about the star's professional achievement, we couldn't help but notice how her make-up-free skin glowed. The star had the sides of her locks scraped back, which showed off her naturally striking features as she smiled for the camera. Sigh. She really does have it all, doesn't she?

Hailey Bieber is another celeb to embrace her natural glow, posting a series of sun-dappled pics of her holiday to Instagram. We're not the only ones who are impressed, as her husband Justin Bieber shared his appreciation, commenting, “U are a movie 🎥 😩😩❤️❤️❤️.”

J.Lo has also been known to share a bare-face selfie or two. Most recently she posted a gorgeous video on her Instagram of her and her cousins making waffles on Christmas morning. No makeup required.

That's not to say celebrities don't have a head start. After all, they do have access to the best dermatologists, facialists and aesthetic doctors the world has to offer, as well as the inside track on the latest cosmetic treatments and skin-boosting products.
Nonetheless, it does serve as a reminder that our natural skin is something to celebrate and all of the things we once considered to be "imperfections" are actually just as grid-worthy as when we're rocking full coverage foundation and a statement smokey eye or bright red lip.
