11 best wireless bras for comfort and support, reviewed
Featured in this article
The best bras to those who favour comfort over all else are wireless bras. But if you're of the impression that wire-free = plain and boring, think again. Non-wired bras from our favourite lingerie brands come in almost every cut, colour and fabric imaginable – giving traditional underwired styles some serious competition. Comfortable and chic? We can see what all the hype's about.
That said, before we hang our trusty T-shirt bras up for good, we have some questions. Are wireless bras really supportive enough for bigger busts as well as smaller chests? Are they actually good for breast health? Can they hold up to everyday wear?
We asked some experts to weigh in with everything you need to know. See what they said, plus our own thoughts, below…
How we tested some of the wireless bras in this edit:
The majority of us have breasts here at Glamour, so we've tried, tested and have become well acquainted with the best wireless bras the world has to offer for our own benefit and now yours. We've combined our research with customer reviews and bestseller data – paying particular attention to specifics like cost, fabric, sustainability and wearability – and have curated a list of 11 styles that we genuinely recommend. To save you time, we've rated them all, listed their sizes and colour ranges, and have provided in-depth reviews covering as much detail as possible. You can read more about how we test here.
Why you can trust me:
For the past five years at Glamour, it has literally been my job to be clued up on the latest in the world of fashion. I've not only covered the latest trends, but I've advising readers where to shop for practical style and capsule wardrobe essentials, too. Wireless bras fall into that “practical” category, and, as someone with boobs, I know what to look for and (crucially) what to avoid. I've attended many-a press day where I've been introduced to the latest and most innovative bra launches, so I sometimes know what's what even before they're available to the general public. Breasts come in all shapes and sizes though, as we know, so I've roped in a few contributors to give their thoughts on the wireless bras included in this round-up in a bid to be more inclusive.

What are the best brands for wireless bras?
Between us, we've got quite a few wireless bras from some of the best lingerie brands featuring heavily in our regular rotation. When it comes to personal favourites, Emma loves the SKIMS Scoop Neck bra from Kim Kardashian's Fits Everybody range, as “it is so comfortable you'll almost forget you are wearing a bra,” she raves. Lauren is particularly fond of Peachaus for its beautiful fabrics and shades. While Georgia's go-to crop top-style wireless bra is from high street stalwart M&S. Plus, we have many more as close seconds.
Is it healthier to go braless?
As ever, we're pro-you here at Glamour, so there's always a choice – but there are actually some expert-backed benefits to wearing a bra, namely the fact that going a long time without any support runs the risk of potentially stretching the Cooper's ligaments in the breasts.
Bra expert Jill Kenton, who has fitted bras for the likes of Madonna and the late Princess Diana, told Glamour: “Wearing no bra at all can cause breasts to sag if the tissue is left with no support." Cosmetic surgeon Dr Dirk Kremer of Harley St. Aesthetics also agreed, telling us that “wearing a bra can help to stop premature sagging, as it means that the connective tissue within the breast isn't stretched as much throughout the day.”
Now, when it comes to wired versus non-wired styles, it largely comes down to personal preference. As Pour Moi lingerie expert and marketing manager Marina Nicoli explains, “comfort is the biggest reason many people switch to wireless bras. Without wires, they feel softer, lighter and more flexible — ideal for lounging, busy days or sensitive skin”.
However, “for larger bust women, I would recommend choosing a wired bra over a wireless bra, as this will help to alleviate back strain, by providing that much needed and correct support to your bust, whilst enhancing your silhouette,” adds Zoe Price-Smith, Boux Avenue's chief design and product officer. Gilly Ridley-Whittle, founder of Peachaus seconds this point. “While wireless bras can be suitable for everyone, they may not always be the right long-term solution for larger busts — without proper support, breast tissue can start to drop over time, which can lead to sagging or stretch marks,” she says.
So, while smaller chested ladies may be in good hands with wireless styles, those of us with larger boobs shouldn't throw away our wired bras just yet.
How should a wireless bra fit?
After many years of bra fitting, Ridley-Whittle has a few top tips on how to get the perfect with for any bra. “You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably under the back band, the seams should sit flat against your skin, and there shouldn’t be any bulging or gaping,” she shares. Adding, “the same fitting principles apply as with a wired bra, it’s all about finding what supports you best”. If you need an extra helping hand, we have a helpful guide to the signs that show you are wearing an ill-fitting bra, and tips for getting the right fit.
