7 best bralettes for all bust sizes
Featured in this article
The best bralettes have been a mainstay in my fellow editors' underwear drawers for years. But, being a girl with a bigger bust, I was certain the non-wired, non-padded lingerie option wasn't for me. Perhaps that's because it was only a few months after receiving my first non-wired training bra that my mother subbed it out for an underwired t-shirt bra offering a lot more support.
But following an in-depth discussion with my colleagues (and industry experts) on their favourite intimates, I have since discovered I've been missing a trick; voluntarily forgoing intense comfort. “Whether you are settling into a chilled Sunday morning in pyjamas or styling an oversized shirt, a bralette is your go-to for all-day comfort,” says Nia Davies, Senior Lingerie Buyer at Boux Avenue.
So, in a bid to find cotton bralettes and comfortable bras that nail the trifecta — are cute, comfy, and supportive — I've spent the last month testing a host to definitively locate the best bras. Yep, from a smoothing and sculpting style from SKIMS to lace options from the likes of Marks & Spencer and Free People, I've since discovered wirefree triangle bras that cater to the needs of smaller bust sizes and plus-size women.
Read on to discover which I've crowned as the best bralettes of 2026, including stretchy longline styles and those with removable cups, as well as answers to common lingerie FAQs. And if you're looking to overhaul your entire undergarment collection, I've also tracked down the best strapless bras, bras for big busts, nursing bras and cotton bras, too.

Bralette FAQs, answered:
“The bralette is a lingerie drawer essential, designed to give you that coveted, lightweight ‘no bra’ feeling,” details Nia Davies, Senior Lingerie Buyer at Boux Avenue. "Unlike a traditional bra, a bralette is typically non-wired and free from heavily moulded cups. It prioritises softness and comfort for those days when you don’t want to feel restricted.
"Without any underwires, bralettes rely on thoughtful design details, such as elasticated underbands and flexible stretch fabrics that naturally adapt to your shape, providing gentle lift and secure support without digging in. The soft-stretch fabrics used offer excellent stretch recovery, meaning they maintain their shape wear after wear."
“This adaptable fit makes bralettes perfect for all bust sizes and changing bodies," urges Nia. "For fuller chests or nursing mums, styles with wider straps and broader underbands provide secure support without a single wire in sight.
“Many fuller-busted women even choose bralettes for sleeping in, for that extra bit of comfortable, overnight support. Features like adjustable straps and removable modesty padding found in the Floral Embroidered Seamless Bralette allow you to easily customise your lift and coverage, tailoring your silhouette without compromising on security.”
“Achieving the ultimate bralette fit is all about how the bralette moves with you,” says Nia. “The under-band should sit smoothly and snugly against your ribcage, anchoring the bralette so you never feel restricted. Next, check the cups: whether you prefer a flattering plunge or a classic cut, your bust should feel beautifully hugged by the fabric. If you notice any spilling, size up; if it gaps, size down. Finally, make the most of adjustable, flexible straps to fine-tune your lift.”

How I test the best bralettes:
Being a functional fashion writer, my working week involves calling in samples from a host of brands to see which styles are worth recommending. For this round-up, I requested a host of unwired, non-padded bralettes, some of which could also count as t-shirt bras, to see which delivered both in terms of style and support.
Each bralette was worn at least three times and was then reviewed against the following criteria:
| Functionality | Did the bralette stay put, provide ample support and deliver the desired shape? Did I have any issues in terms of slipping, spillage or twisting? |
| Design | Is the bralette aesthetic and comfortable? How many options do I have in terms of colour and pattern? And what was each bralette made of? Are the materials sustainable and breathable? Did it wash well? |
| Price point | Would I be willing to spend that much again? Is it of good quality? |
| Delivery | How quickly did the bralette arrive, and what were/are the associated costs? |
I also wore each style underneath close-fitting t-shirts, white shirts, and summer dresses to see whether they were noticeable and delivered a flattering lift.
Where I haven't yet had the chance to personally review a style myself, I asked my colleagues for their recommendations and scoured countless customer reviews for points of note. Of course, only the bralettes that impressed all around made it into this edit — and sadly, the following didn't make the cut:
- Marks & Spencer's Flexifit Non Wired Full Cup Bra A-E — It's rare that lingerie from M&S doesn't impress me; however, I'm sad to report that this bralette from the brand's BODY collection, despite being fitted with individual full cups, caused a rather unflattering monoboob. Granted, it was super comfortable, washed well and came in at a great price point (£22), but it offered minimal lift or virtually no rounding effect.
- Out From Under Liv Firecracker Underwire Bra, £26 — Undeniably pretty, but offers virtually no support. Definitely one suited to those with smaller busts, or those less worried about lift and support.

Why you can trust me:
A bit of context: I've been reviewing functional fashion essentials intermittently for years — however, six months ago, I was tasked with overhauling Glamour's underwear, shapewear and activewear round-ups. This includes those declaring the best cotton underwear, sports bras, and period pants on the market. For those wondering, before my 20 months at Glamour, I spent a year working in the same subject area at Women's Health. During that time, I've seen countless trends and advancements, as well as a boom in our undergarment options.
To ensure I am an authority on all things functional fashion, I regularly attend press launches and interview designers or brand founders, requesting answers to common FAQs. I also personally review as many new releases as possible. Having graduated straight from training bras to a C cup, I've always needed styles with a little more support. And now, being a 34DD, I'm used to seeking out the best bras for big busts. However, I have been craving a little more comfort and so took the task of seeking out the best bralettes on the high street seriously, trialling a host of different styles from various brands, including Marks & Spencer, Bravissimo and SKIMS.
