Say it ain’t so! BECCA Cosmetics, the iconic Aussie born brand, best known for its glowing and luminous complexion products, has just announced that it will be closing its doors for good in September 2021 and the beauty fiend in all of us can’t quite take it.
Founded in Perth Australia in 2001, BECCA was the brainchild of Rebecca Morrice Williams who started her career as a makeup artist and her frustration with the makeup market, led her to create her own foundation. BECCA grew from a small to cult brand within a decade, making a glow from within more than a cliche.
They have been busy ever since, catering for the glow-getting babes with the fairest to deepest skin tones, championing inclusive, cruelty-free and effortless beauty. What's not to love there!
Becca was on its second life when it was bought by conglomerate beauty giant Estée Lauder in 2016, but due to extenuating circumstances and the current COVID-19 retail climate, their venture has been short lived and they announced the brand was closing on this Instagram post that had fans and industry insiders shocked.

“For me they were one of the first brands back in the early 2000s that got the concept of glow and did amazing sheer textures, that looked like real skin,” says Camilla Kay, Beauty Director for GLAMOUR.
Nostalgia has hit us hard, and we remember some of the biggest and most revered collaborations with celebrities like one of our former cover stars Chrissy Teigen and her glowy Cravings Collection, Youtuber and MUA Jaclyn Hill with her champagne collection, Euphoria star Barbara Ferreira and her highlighters, amongst others.
