Alexa Chung's solo fashion collection: it’s as amazing as we’d hoped 😍
It's been three years since Alexa Chung conceived the idea to start her own fashion line, ALEXACHUNG. It's a natural fit considering she's already had a Mulberry bag named after her and her own sell-out collections with AG jeans and Marks & Spencer, and now, it's finally here!
Alexa debuted her fashion collection in front of friends and select press last night at the Danish Church of Saint Katharine in London’s Regent’s Park. Daisy Lowe, Pandora Sykes, Veronika Heilbrunner, Tallulah Harlech, Pixie Geldof, Amber Anderson, Jean Campbell, and Laura Bailey all showed up to show their support.
The collection feels like Alexa Chung's personal exercise in filling in all the pieces she felt were missing from her own wardrobe. You know Alexa would wear every piece in a heartbeat, which is a strong sell considering her style credentials.
From pinstripe dungarees to boyish cut jeans and prairie chic blouses; Alexa's preppy, London style chimes through the entire collection. It's also no surprise there's a strong emphasis on patent, slogan tees and tea dresses (Alexa faves), while Chung's signature Mary Jane-style shoes come in variations from brown leather to glitter.
There's also a few surprises: super platform mules, kitsch jewellery and button-up Mandarin collar dresses - a nod to Chung's Chinese heritage.
Our favourite pieces? A metallic zip-up mini dress and the all important striped pink pyjama suit. You can expect to see these everywhere on the party scene in a matter of weeks.
Alexa also teamed up with Mike Skinner to film a nifty little video for the MyTheresa.com Tunes series, showing off the collection.
