You spoilers ahead!
You season four is nearly upon us, and it looks like Joe Goldberg is leaving his murderous past in America to start afresh across the pond.
Taking on the new identity of professor Jonathan Moore, will he finally be able to escape his tumultuous past, or will his evil past come back to haunt him? Well, by the looks of it, Joe (played by Penn Badgley) may actually be up against some stiff competition in the serial killer department with another murderer on the loose in the British capital. Eeek, not another one!
We seriously cannot wait to see what drama unfolds for Joe and what may happen to his new love interest, but we're equally as excited that the fourth instalment of the popular Netflix series is set in London. While the previous seasons of You have been set in the likes of New York and California, the British takeover is long-awaited by diehard fans of the show, with many of them unable to believe their luck when they saw Penn taking to the British streets to film with his new co-stars.
So, if you're wondering exactly where You season four has been filmed, keep on scrolling.
Knebworth House in Hertfordshire
Parts of You season four are filmed at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire. While it's unclear how prominently the regal Tudor stately home and gardens feature in the series, which think it may act as the university that Joe, oops, we mean, Professor Jonathan Moore teaches at.
The grounds have long been featured in various film and television projects and most recently featured in season five of the royal drama The Crown. Olivia Colman and Gillian Anderson were also known to film for season four of the show at Knebworth House.
Royal Holloway University
Penn was also spotted filming scenes for You at the prestigious Royal Holloway University in Egham, Surrey. The location was first revealed when a TikTok user shared a video of Penn carrying a coffee and walking through the campus with the caption: "Arrived to campus today and they were filming YOU season four." Another similar video was entitled: "POV: YOU season four is being filmed at your uni."
TikTok content
The university's stunning grounds have also seen plenty of other projects filmed there, such as Great British Railway Journeys, Downton Abbey, Celebrity Masterchef, Midsomer Murders, and Antiques Roadshow.
Four Seasons Hotel at Ten
This luxury hotel is the scene of Phoebe's luxury flat, and it is undoubtedly the perfect location to double as her residence as the socialite (played by former EastEnders star Tilly Keeper) loves the fame and fortune that comes with her wealthy status.
Gaddesden Estate, Gaddesden Home Farm
The farming and forestry estate, Gaddesden, has been in the hands of the Halsey family for 500 years, so its historical significance is major. Located in the Chilterns' Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the estate has been used for various film and TV production. It will also serve as a lumberyard in Netflix's You.
Lincoln’s Inn, 11 New Square
The fictional university, Darcy College, where Professor Jonathan Moore, aka Joe Goldberg, teaches, is prominent throughout season four. All the library shots were filmed at Lincoln's Inn, one of the four Inns of Court in London to which barristers of England and Wales belong and where they are called to the Bar. Lincoln's Inn, located in Holborn, is recognised as one of the world's most prestigious professional bodies of judges and lawyers.
St. Pancras International Station
Is there a grander, opulent train station in London than the stunning St. Pancras International Station? Nope. As a true global landmark, the famous train station has been home to many production shots and events. Fresh from his flight from America, we can imagine Joe arriving at his location via St.Pancras...
Gloucester Road
Another train station that is quintessentially British and drops people off in the centre of London is Gloucester Road. Prepare to see some epic shots of the station as American Joe runs riot in the Capital.
Fabric
As one of the most famous nightclubs in London, how could Fabric not be included in You during the party scenes?
St Bartholomew the Great
St Bartholomew the Great was founded as an Augustinian priory in 1123. Little did the locals know back in the day that Joe and the rest of the You gang would use it as a key location for their television show.
The Bargehouse
Season four leading lady Kate is an art gallery director, so this is where Bargehouse comes in. This super cool, atmospheric exhibition space, located in the Oxo Tower, lends itself perfectly to this season of You.
The Promenade, Chiswick & Chiswick Gardens
There's not much else to say about Chiswick besides being one of the most idyllic and low-key parts of London and will undoubtedly serve as a scenic backdrop for some fantastic scenes.
Seething Lane Garden
The little garden, which includes a formal lawn, seating and a pergola, is a little pocket of peace among the hustle and bustle of London.
London in general
Shots from Brushfield Street, Braithwaite Street, and 1 Old Billingsgate Walk are all featured in season four.
