Had a Western-shaped hole in your media diet ever since Yellowstone ended? You're not the only one. Luckily, a new spin-off Dutton Ranch has arrived to plug that gap with more gritty Americana drama.

In case you quick recap, the original series plunged us into the world of the Dutton family, the proud owners of the largest cattle ranch in Montana – AKA the titular Yellowstone. Over five seasons, we saw the family dynasty battle power struggles, sibling rivalries, extreme violence – so much so, that's it's even been calledGame of Thrones on a ranch”. Suffice to say, viewers lapped it up: the show quickly became one of the most popular series in the world, with millions of fans tuning into to watch the drama unfold.

Despite its runaway success, the TV show came to an end in 2024 with an explosive final season. But the Yellowstone universe lives on. Following prequel series 1883 and 1923, we're now getting a present-day spin-off, as Dutton Ranch brings back key characters Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton as they start over in a state. Even better news: it's ready to stream right now.

What is Dutton Ranch about?

The new show sees fan-favourite couple Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton move to Texas, “far from the ghosts of Yellowstone”, in an attempt to start a new life. They're on a new ranch, in a new state and, unbeknownst to them, are about to go head-to-head with new rivals. As per Dutton Ranch's synopsis, “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together, they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”

Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly return as Rip and Beth, but they'll also be some new faces joining the cast – including country musician (and occasional Real Housewives of Beverly Hills character) Morgan Wade, who will be making her acting debut in the series. So, while Dutton Ranch is technically a Yellowstone spin-off, it will have a totally new vibe. In a recent interview with Radio Times, Hauser explained that, “The bunkhouse is gone, the topography has changed – we’re in Texas now.” And the dynamic between characters will also be different. “The cast has changed. And the evolution of these characters… there's Beth Rip and Carter, and it's how we get along in this new world.” Intriguing…

How many episodes will there be?

The first series of Dutton Ranch will have nine episodes in total – similar to the first few series of Yellowstone. That should give us plenty of time to get properly immersed in the new Texas ranch and all of its ensuing drama. The full episode release schedule is as follows:
