Is it just me, or were the Oscars 2026 all about the nostalgia? Sure, we celebrated this year's best new films, but some of the greatest moments at his year's award ceremony were all about looking back fondly at the classics. That Casablanca skit! That Barbra Streisand The Way We Were tribute! To top it all off, amongst all of this nostalgia, the show was peppered with reunion after reunion of some millennial-adored faves.
The gang from Bridesmaids took to the stage and proved they are still the funniest people ever to grace the screen. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans had a cute little Avengers moment. Anna Wintour agreed to do a Miranda Priestley impression. Nicole Kidman and Ethan Hawke took us back to the Moulin Rouge. The nostalgia is real — and the Oscars certainly delivered.
Here are all of the nostalgic reunions that had us in our feels.
Avengers

The Avengers assembled! Robert Downey Jr., aka Iron Man, and Chris Evans, aka Captain America, reunited 14 years after The Avengers hit cinemas. (Yes, we are all feeling old). The whole thing was very cute with Evans spending most of their time on stage anxiously asking Downey Jr. if he got him an anniversary present. Eventually, Downey Jr. pulled out a pair of sparkly silver underwear “from Magic Mike”. Random? Yes. Fun? Also yes.

Help me I'm poor! And also I'm tearing up at the Bridesmaids Oscars reunion. Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy and Ellie Kemper all took to the stage to mark the 15th anniversary of the iconic comedy — yes, we're feeling old again — and it was just as wonderful as one could have hoped.
The five actors did a long bit about getting notes from people in the crowd — most of them apparently from Stellan Skärsgaard. Because of course he would be a Bridesmaids fan.
The Devil Wears Prada

Although Anna Wintour wasn't in The Devil Wears Prada, her spirit was captured to perfection by Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestley. At the Oscars 2026, Wintour joined Anne Hathaway on stage for a faux Devil Wears Prada reunion, in which she stepped into the shoes of Miranda. It was all very meta.
At one point, Wintour called her Emily. At another, she simply ignored her question about her dress. A almost expected her to start waxing lyrical about cerulean blue.
When Harry Met Sally

Billy Crystal honoured the legendary writer and director Rob Reiner who died last year. During his speech, Crystal recalled some iconic moments from Reiner's classic rom-com When Harry Met Sally: "I'll have what she's having, baby fish mouth, pecan pie, and Harry telling Sally, 'When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.'"
As if this wasn't enough, he was then joined by Meg Ryan, who starred opposite Crystal in the film, who held his hand as they took a moment to remember the director.
They were also joined by actors like Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Carol Kane, Kiefer Sutherland, Demi Moore, Kevin Pollak, Kathy Bates, Annette Bening and John Cusack, in honour of Reiner's films The Princess Bride, The Sure Thing, A Few Good Men and Misery, to name a few.
One Battle After Another swept this year's Academy Awards.

Moulin Rouge

This one is emotional. Nicole Kidman, bedecked in feathers, of course, joined Ewan McGregor on stage in a Moulin Rouge reunion. At one point, McEwan quoted the filming, telling Kidman “love is like oxygen,” before she replied, “love is a many splendid thing.” “Love lifts us up where we belong,” he said, adding, “Even though it's been 25 years, every time I hear the word ‘love’ I still imagine someone's going to lower a chandelier and cue the orchestra.” “Oh, don't tempt me,” she replied. Then, the pair burst into the “Elephant Love Medley.” Weeping.
