Will there be a hell of a lot of rivalry? In a recent interview where she was asked about the sequel, Emily commented: “Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do? We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it. I’m not sure.”

Blunt has also opened up to co-star Anne Hathaway about the ways that The Devil Wears Prada changed her life. “We just had a joy bomb of a time on that movie,” Blunt told Hathaway during a conversation for Variety’s Actors on Actors series. “I don’t know if any of us knew it was going to become what it did. It’s quoted to me every week. It will be the movie that changed my life.”

Is there a trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2?

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is less than two months away, and we’ve finally got our first official look. The sequel will see Andy return to Runway as Miranda attempts to keep the magazine afloat in an increasingly perilous media landscape.

One person who is no longer at Runway, however, is Emily. Emily Blunt’s character is now the head of a luxury brand and holds the keys to serious commercial power—something that could prove crucial to Runway’s survival.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see more. Watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer:

The clip features plenty of familiar faces, and also gives us our first glimpse of Simone Ashley’s mysterious new character.

In the scene, Meryl Streep’s Miranda is in full, scathing form while reviewing the latest photos for Runway, asking Andy whether “the models were encouraged to mill around like starving goats in the parking lot of a methadone clinic in New Jersey.”

As she delivers the line, Ashley’s character interrupts with a pointed throat-clear to get Miranda’s attention.

“What? What am I not allowed to say? Methadone? New Jersey?” Miranda quips in response, suggesting Ashley’s character may be tasked with gently stopping the editor-in-chief from saying anything too offensive.

We’re sure Miranda absolutely adores that.

When Anne's been asked the sequel in the past, she's admittedly not been positive – she told Entertainment Tonight last year: “there's not going to be a sequel. It's not gonna happen. We can't do it.” Something must have changed her mind.

She added in an interview with V Magazine earlier in 2024: “We all love each other and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we’d all be crazy not to. But there’s a huge difference in the world now with technology, and one of the things about that particular story is it was about producing a physical object. Now with so much being digital, it would just be very different. Maybe me, Stanley, Emily, Meryl, Dave Frankel, Patricia Field… we should just all do something else together. That’d be fun."

Fans feel passionately about the whole gang reuniting for a sequel, including Anne. One even posted on X (formerly Twitter): “full OG cast or nothing”.
