We all deserve a second shot at love, and that same ethos goes for former dating show contestants. That's the premise of Perfect Match, which will return for season 2 this summer, Netflix bosses have confirmed in a press release.
The show brings together contestants from its three most popular dating shows (Love is Blind, The Ultimatum and Too Hot to Handle), all of whom have failed to find lasting love so far. Happens to the best of us, right?
Talking of familiar faces… this forthcoming season will be presented by returning host Nick Lachey, the American singer who is also at the helm of The Ultimatum and Love Is Blind. The format is recognisable for those who know and love these shows. The singles are transported to a group beach getaway where they go through a series of challenges designed to assess compatibility.
Once sparks have begun to fly between some of the contestants, the freshly-formed couples will play matchmakers to the rest, predicting whom they think will make a great pairing (or at least a hot fling) among the others.
The show ups the ante by introducing an extra bit of competitiveness most commonly seen in the likes of Big Brother – making it appealing to both game-loving types and romantics alike.

So. We have a trio of certain contestants, thanks for some sneaky giveaways that emerged from the Love Is Blind season 6 reunion show, where Nick let slip which of the former Love Is Blind contestants would be moving over – or shall we call it, “graduating” – to the Netflix sister series.
Those three include (drum roll please)… first up Jessica Vestal, who will be fresh in your memories from Love Is Blind season 6. She was overlooked by Jimmy – with whom she was initially connecting with in the pods – in favour of Chelsea. Returners from further down memory lane include Izzy Zapata, who was on season 5 and engaged to Stacy (however, they did not make it down the aisle). Then there's season 4's Micah Lussier, who memorably got dumped at the aisle by Paul.
As for the other contestants, it's a case of TBC.

What can we expect from Perfect Match season 2?
We anticipate there will be a series of fun-filled games designed to unite the contestants in romance. The debut season included ‘kissing games’, push-up challenges, blindfold exercises, quizzes and communication skill assessments. There's also a ‘boardroom’ where couples get to pick new singles to join the gang and compete in future challenges. So those are the main rules, which we can expect to see returning.
Did we mention it all takes place in an idyllic sandy setting that will have us scrolling last-minute getaway deals?
Perfect Match season 2 release date
While we don't have an official release date, the Netflix press release has told us it will be landing on the streaming channel “this summer”, meaning it could be with us anytime between… 20 June to 22 September. Guess we'll hold off from putting it into our calendar for now.
A small clue that it could be sooner rather than later is that when the first season was announced on 18 January 2023, it was less than a month until it was released on 14 February 2023. Which could mean nothing, but we'll take it.
