It's cold, it's grey, it's bleak out there. But we have good news: People We Meet On Vacation is landing on Netflix, bringing us some much-needed summer vacay vibes.
An adaptation of the beloved Emily Henry rom-com novel, People We Meet On Vacation, is pretty much guaranteed to be your next obsession. An unlikely friends-to-lovers saga with a holiday backdrop? Yes please.
The film follows the story of Poppy and Alex, friends from college who, despite their many, many differences, fall in love over the course of ten summer vacations. (Talk about a slow burn.) It's kind of like One Day but (spoilers) with an ending that doesn't make you want to curl up in a ball on the floor and never get up.
To make the film even more enticing, there's the cast. Chances are, you'll recognise most of them from – well – all of your favourite TV shows.

Who is she? Rising star Emily Bader probably already won your heart with her electric performance as the titular Lady Jane Grey in Prime's My Lady Jane, a ballsy retelling of the famous historical tale – with some added supernatural elements and a great love story. You may also know her from Fresh Kills or Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin.
Who does she play? Bader stars as our heroine, Poppy, the loud, chaotic protagonist who meets Alex during her first year at the University of Chicago.
Who is he? You may know him better as a blonde – Blyth's biggest role to date saw him playing the young Coriolanus Snow opposite Rachel Zegler in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. He has also appeared in The Fence, Wasteman and Plainclothes. From 2022 to 2025, he starred as the titular outlaw in Billy the Kid.
Who does he play? Blyth is once again flexing his romantic lead muscles in People We Meet On Vacation as Alex, the steady, grounded, stable antithesis to Bader's Poppy.
Who is she? Last time you saw Sarah Catherine Hook, she was probably sailing off from the monks in Thailand after surviving the White Lotus – she played Piper in the third season of the show. She also starred in Prime's 2024 Cruel Intentions as Caroline.
Who does she play? She plays Sarah, Alex's girlfriend, before he falls for Poppy.
Who is he? Yes, it's Alfie from Emily in Paris! He also appears in Tinsel Town and This Time Next Year.
Who does he play? Poppy also has a significant other in the form of Trey.
Who is he? You probably recognise Heizer as Alex in the teen drama 13 Reasons Why. You may have also seen him as the young Drew in Parenthood or as Cameron in Boots, Netflix's military comedy series.
Who does he play? David is Alex's younger brother and one of Alex and Poppy's college pals – his wedding serves as a reunion for Alex and Poppy.
Who is she? You probably know Jameela Jamil from The Good Place, her podcast and her activism. One of our 2024 Women of the Year, Jamil is not only a great actor, but also a consistent, loud voice speaking up for women's rights.
Who does she play? Swapna is Poppy's oh so chic boss who is all too encouraging of Poppy's jet setting (and romance).
Who is he? You may recognise Do as Jesse in Hacks, Kevin in Overcompensating or Colby in The Four Seasons.
Who does he play? Do plays Nam – we don't know much about his character yet.
Who is he? Another White Lotus alum, Lukas Gage played Dillon the waiter who ends up in – um – a compromising position in season 1. You may also remember him as Adam in season 3 of You, Tyler in Euphoria or Patrick in Companion.
Who does he play? In People We Meet On Vacation, Gage plays Buck, a spontaneous adventure-seeker Alex and Poppy come across during one of their trips.

Who is she? Lee first found fame on the stage as Heather Duke in Heathers: the Musical. She has also appeared in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, The Union, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and Brittany Runs a Marathon.
Who does she play? Rachel is a style blogger who plays a part in Poppy and Alex's story.
Who is she? Comedy legend Molly Shannon found fame on Saturday Night Live before taking on roles in A Night at the Roxbury, Never Been Kissed, How the Grince Stole Christmas, Wet Hot American Summer, Evan Almighty and the list goes on and on. More recently, she's appeared in The White Lotus and Only Murders in the Building.
Who does she play? Shannon plays Poppy's mother Wanda.
Who is he? The real oldest boy, Alan played Connor, the oldest Roy sibling in Succession. He also starred in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Spin City.
Who does he play? Ruck plays Poppy's father Jimmy.
